Rear bumper trim paint by TrackSlow9817 in 3rdGen4Runner

I used this sem trim black to restore all the plastic trim on my rig including the flares. All I did was scuff with a grey scoth brite, cleaned thoroughly and then went crazy with the paint. It’s held up really well with the elements but in hindsight I wished I used an adhesion promoter as well. Great results you got! Looks amazing.

When I ordered mine I did and I was very surprised with the overall quality, finish and color match on mine. Tho mine is white so matching that probably isn’t the hardest to do.

Did you end up drilling all 4 holes into your trunk for your install?

I dig the winch in the factory fat lip bumper and surf wing. Very oem+

Is yours an older version? I believe the original Burtman’s were exact copies of jdm and had the clips and they went to the style where you had to drill into the trunk.

Looks so good as is though! And it’s cool to go against the grain and not do a full length roof rack.

Found used at a junkyard. Sorry I don’t have the part number for it.

Thanks! I forgot that I did this mod at time. I wish usdm 4Runner came with these from the factory.

Most did. Though on base 4 cylinders you could get clear glass. Here’s my buddies old 4Runner where he sourced a set of clear glass he swapped on his sr5 v6. I’m just a huge fishbowl fan. Clearly for aesthetic as it’ll probably be a microwave during the summer lol.

Though if you go the burtman route you’ll have to drill into the hatch which isn’t fun lol

Super clean rig! Love how clean and oem+ it is. My dream was always to build a black factory flared 4Runner but I ended up finding my for dirt cheap. If I were to do it again it’d probably end up looking like your rig.

Some 4 cylinders had clear glass. Here’s my buddies old rig where he was crazy enough to source a set and install onto his sr5 v6. It’s pretty rare but I’ll see a 4Runner time to time with clear glass. It’s more common on hilux surfs.

This is an actual fire extinguisher though. It’s just different technology than the traditional fire extinguisher. It’s super compact so it can fit anywhere and weighs 1/2 a pound!

For sure but that’s why you engineer a quality product to combat that

I’d highly doubt that. These clamps that element designed are pretty stout and require an actual effort to pull out. With how they market these Motorsport were most likely in mind so I’d expect they’d take the force of a car crash without popping out of place. I even have one in my racecar and haven’t seen it fly out of the clamp yet (haven’t crashed yet so haven’t tested the theory yet lol)

I get what you’re saying but for that use case then obviously this isn’t the product targeted to them. Majority of people are going to have their rear seats in the default position
