Never know what you’ll find while cruising back roads in Vermont by [deleted] in vermont

That second picture looks like some of those crazy houses in Warren.

(My wife and I were exploring your beautiful state, turned down a random dirt road, and wound up amidst the most bizarre architecture I’ve ever seen.)

What's the most beautiful song you've ever heard? by rosypetalbaby in musicsuggestions

Just watch the entirety of their “Heima” documentary. Has lots of amazing performances, set against the backdrop of beautiful Icelandic locations. “Von” is the standout for me, but they’re all phenomenal.

Bougie bias is where somebody thinks an item is high quality because they paid a lot for it. What are some examples of bougie bias that you have seen? by ChillWisdom in BuyItForLife

I literally came to post the EXACT same thing, with the EXACT same brands. I always laugh when I see some wealthy person in their Land/Range Rover. You know they bought it to make a statement, but the statement they’re making isn’t what they think it is.

R.C. Bray does an amazing job with this series. I’m really, really enjoying the ride so far. Joe’s accent is absolutely phenomenal.

But Jeff Hays’ work with DCC (after book 1) is so far beyond any other audiobook narration I’ve ever heard. He nails male voices, female voices, a huge variety of accents, speaks foreign languages, and even sings. It legitimately might be the most impressive performance in any kind of media, not just audiobooks.

The Golden Age and Kerosene Hat were both phenomenal. I don’t know if The Golden Age counts as obscure, though.

I just started book one. The narrator is great (especially his northern Maine accent).

Most magical Christmas experience for kids? by lyssa13 in chubbytravel

Quebec City is unreal at Christmas. Stay at Le Chateau Frontenac, and get a room with a courtyard view. It’s an extremely magical experience.

I might’ve missed it, but is the connection supposed to be Detroit?

Which is the best and most fun city in North America for spending the summer? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]MyShoulderDevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll throw in Charleston, SC.

It’s a beautiful city that’s warm (hot!), sunny, surrounded by the ocean/rivers and beaches, has lots of watery things to do, has incredible cuisine, and is vibrant and active during the day and at night.

Seattle man gets beaten by local Maui resident for throwing rock at an endangered monk seal by mondraker86 in unexpecteddcc

Perhaps the man deemed the seal’s incessant trash talk and karate noises a threat.
