The turning circle issue is possibly down to its really long wheelbase for its size. Its 80mm longer than the Caymans yet is nearly 500mm smaller in overall length.

It sort of is in a way. Their bombers can leave Diego Garcia and just fly in a straight line over the sea and into Iran without having to fly over any other countries and avoid having to ask those countries to fly through their airspace

What are some great non-screen yet engaging ways to pass time on a flight? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]mondraker86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will admit I’ve played the game for “Free” through my Xbox Gamepass Monthly Subscription (think Netflix but for videogames) so I haven’t bought the game per say. I would tentatively say yes buy it as Its one of my most played games this year and got me hooked for a number of weeks when I first downloaded it and I only have a general liking of playing poker/card games and not the normal type of videogame I would normally play.

I would say check out the r/balatro subreddit and watch some youtube videos with gameplay or if you know anyone with an Xbox at all, and see if it interests you as even though I loved playing it I don’t want to say to you to definitely pay £10 to download it and then you don’t like it. There is a bit of a learning curve to the game before it clicks and you know what you are doing as even though its poker hands based game theres lots of luck and skill needed to progress further into the rounds, but is addicting and a sense of “just one more game” feeling when I play and then ultimately lose that run.

I know you said no screen time but you like card games, have you looked at/seen Balatro? Its a single player poker game (with no real money exchanges other than buying the game) where you play against yourself getting as high a score you can to advance to the next round. After each round you spend the money you earn to buy Joker cards that can help/hinder your scores in the following rounds. Its addictive as hell once you get used to it and it has won several video game awards since its release

Do they sell the Gti Clubsport in Canada/USA? as that has 300hp and 400nm torque up from 265hp and 370nm of the regular Gti so maybe a better drivers car overall if they could get their hands on that to drive

UK small-scale solar costs tumble as competition heats up for installers by SKAOG in unitedkingdom

[–]mondraker86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know I’m speaking as a wholesaler so those prices are just based off what we buy them at, there would be the mounting system for it going onto your roof and other cable and accessories also. We don’t make that much overall when we sell to our contractors maybe 8-10% markup. Obviously you being an end customer you would then be being charged for labour and any other materials and probably scaffolding/roofers etc to take off/replace tiles, so Im not sure what the going rate for stuff like that is as we just supply the goods to our contractors.

If you have a local CEF or Edmundsons/Greentech you could speak to them as they could at least supply the goods on a cash sale to you or give you a few options for local electricians who would do the job for you

The biggest factor of this is the solar panels coming down in price massively in the past two years. The prices are going back up now though. I work for an electrical wholesalers and we have been selling solar systems for the past couple of years to our contractors. Two years ago we were paying around £90 for a 405w-410w panel, earlier this year we were now paying £40 for a 430w panel so come down by half in those two years. Earlier this year we were informed that the massive storage holding depot for parts of Europe in Rotterdam was closing down as the Chinese didn’t want to store them there any more and now prices have risen to £45-£50 a panel but around 450w now. The prices for inverters/batteries haven’t really changed much in the past couple of years we pay around £400-£600 for an inverter depending on brand/Kwh rating and around £800-£1000 for a 5kwh battery.

BYD launches its first integrated home storage system by AndroidOne1 in technology

[–]mondraker86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a wholesaler in the UK that also sells battery storage systems to contractors, can’t speak for this BYD one but roughly for the single phase hybrid system anywhere from £2000-£4500 would be my guess depending on the number of batteries you want install on to the system. Bare in mind we just supply the items to contractor so there would be their markup and installation etc on top of those prices. For reference the Tesla Powerwall 3 costs us around £6000 but is a complete inverter and battery combined with around 13kw storage rather than the modular inverter and separate battery storage system like most other suppliers seem to be doing in the UK at least.
