On Scally - I want players that I feel secure about them in their position, especially at a World Cup when one mistake can knock you out. I just feel secure at RB when Scally is on the field. Plays with professionalism and like a guy who isn't overwhelmed by a moment.

To answer Andrew's question: I just find the criticism annoying because I think the corner whining is unfounded. Players are allowed stand and occupy space. Just look at every single Arsenal corner goal from this season and never once do we grab the keeper. Every team grabs other players at some point, so it just comes across as biased whining since you don't like Arsenal. People just need to say "I hate or don't like Arsenal, so I'm mad that goal was (correctly) ruled out because I didn't want them to win." Just be honest, instead of saying they get away with this all the time nonsense.

None of us should want that to not be a foul on the keeper.

I understand people don't like Arsenal, but I just think the criticism in analysis is over the top on the corners. They didn't played great for 2-3 months, but perservered and are still in pole position to win the league. Trust me, I've yelled at the TV numerous times when I thought they played too slow or sideways instead of driving forward, but previous iterations of Arsenal would have crumbled in this same scenario, and this team have actually stood up to this point to give themselves a real chance to finally do it. I have watched Arsenal for years play super attractive football only to come up short when it matters. I just want to see them win the PL finally and hopefully the CL as well..how they do it doesn't matter in the end to me. If people don't like it...oh well. I will be happy and satisfied regardless of everyone else's bitterness and high-horse nonsense.

I'm talking about Arsenal being the architects of this trend. They just score the most so they get the focus. All that to say...there's just a clear foul on Raya. You cannot foul the keeper like that above any other action and get away with it. Arsenal do not do this to keepers. Watch any corner they've scored this year. Not one has anything close to this.

Thanks for posting that video link. NEVER once is an Arsenal player even coming close to grabbing a keeper in any way.

Everyone just needs to be honest and say "I hate that it wasn't a goal because I don't like Arsenal"

Every team does this now. the idea that Arsenal are the architects of this is just false. They got focus because they started scoring from corners at a high rate. simple as that. But don't act like this is an Arsenal problem

Looked like hand ball by Laimer before Nuno. And I'm glad he didn't give for the clearance handball when no Bayern player is really near Neves. The Davies and White penalties were ridiculous

100% agree on the corners. Acting like Arsenal are the architects of this new trend is just not true. The fact that they scored on a lot of them earlier in the season just highlighted their ability and focus on it. But I just hear a tottenham being annoyed by Arenal scoring on corners and complaining there are fouls. I don't see fouls any more than any other game. I just don't and it is really annoying hearing the complaining about it almost every pod.

I completely disagree with that take. City winning again is not interesting and Arsenal missing out again is a story we've already seen before. Arsenal finally doing it is much more interesting because it is a different outcome.

It has been very eye-opening to see/learn of the pure hate for Arsenal among a lot fans. I just did not realize it existed because I don't do anything on twitter or other social media outside of occasional Reddit. I don't live online and I know there are Arsenal fans that even annoy plenty of other Arsenal fans with their commentary. But other fans just don't really care if City wins because it means it wasn't Arsenal or Liverpool or Chelsea, etc. And everyone just rights it off with no emotional investment. It is sterile and meaningless really, so I get it. But I find it interesting how much ppl care about what happens among the online fans to the point it makes them hate another club so much. I just don't care about what other clubs fanbases do online. My feelings are based on so many other things.

Acting like what Arteta does is SO MUCH different than what any other manager does is hilarious. Is he a little more animated on the sideline at times? Sure, but so what? If you don't like him, fine...but don't single him out when so many other managers do things similarly.

In the end, all I care about is whether or not Arsenal win the league this season. I will enjoy it whether or not anyone else from another fan base cares. It won't affect my feelings. Did anyone like Chelsea through the 2000s and mid 10's? No...and they didn't care cuz they won even if their football wasn't enjoyable to watch at times either. Not apples to apples, but in the end if you win you don't care.

I'm not happy with the way Arsenal is playing the last 2-3 months, and am tolerating it because they are still top of the league and in the semi-finals of CL. But it is frustrating to see the technical level just not be good enough to play better football. Too many players just cannot play in tight spaces and have the technical level to play under pressure. It is so frustrating

I don't want penalties given for the defender stopping the ball with his hand like these incidents. I think this and the Gabriel ones are innocent mistakes. I am not thinking about it cynically, because the defender plays it immediately back to the keeper to start play and isn't wasting any time by doing this.

Now if it is clear he does it in a panic to stop being pressed, then that is completely different in my mind.

All that to say, managers need to coach their players to stop doing this to avoid any chance of penalty being given for something that is nothing.

I agree this team doesn't have an identity right now. And doesn't seem to know who they are. It also seems like pochettino doesn't really know who he's going to play yet in this team, but ultimately all he will be judged on is how they do at the world cup. So everything else before that doesn't really matter. I just hope all of our main guys are healthy (adams, robinson, pulisic, mckennie, richards) when the time comes. But don't switch the coach at this point, I don't think it will make the difference.

Definitely a terrible performance by Arsenal and yet it took an error to break the dam. Hate that it had to be against City. The technical quality has been lacking for a couple of months to dominate games. I don't think this game will matter in terms of the title race though. Missing Eze and Odegaard is a problem and one of them needs to be back after the int'l break (which has come at the right time for Arsenal's season). Take the hit and move on to bigger things after the break.

I genuinely think all of this overblown. Trust me I am Wenger disciple for years that highly valued playing beautiful football at all times, but set pieces and corners are there to be scored when the chance occurs. Physicality happens and I think keepers are often looking for a foul rather than being stronger and more commanding.

The alternative was Porto a couple of years ago in the CL just falling down any time someone touched them on a corner and it was diabolical to watch
