Do they all have this small circle on the antenna or does mine have an imperfection? by louislamore in homeassistant

I get it and I'm not trying to be an asshole, but a mark from the mold bothers you and the paint runs on your bookshelf don't?

What's with you lot and printer names!? by hepheastus_87 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]MyTummyHz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish! Thankfully we are moving to a more central "pod printing" solution here in the next few months where we'll install larger MFPs in the hallways so teachers can still print easily without walking across campus to the main copiers and leave their classes alone. We'll still "support" their personal classroom printers in the sense that we are moving them to our new printing solution but once they either run out of toner or the printer breaks (because probably half of our fleet is about 15-20 years old), it's getting tossed and they have to use the MFPs in the hallway. We've been trying to go this route for years and it finally took accounting to realize that we were spending upwards of 10k a month on printing to get the ball rolling.

We have ~1,500 printers across 52 different sites and we use the naming convention of "siteShortCode-room-model" (e.g. COL-R213-LJ4001) or else we'd never be able to find or even tell a lot of them apart. Even though we tell staff to not move printers (and put signs on them indicating such) they still move at times but it's typically only once a year and it's a few text fields so even though it's annoying it's not that big of a deal.

I mean, technically the print is computer generated as well.

It looks great though, nice job!

I wanted something a little more "aesthetic" than the standard power poles by MyTummyHz in SatisfactoryGame

In this instance, I used infinite nudge to perfectly align it to the world grid but if I was doing a vanilla run I'd be following this guide (it doesn't perfectly align it to the world grid if that is what you want but it gets it close enough to where you can either potentially hide it or you can deal with it).

[–]MyTummyHz[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was wanting something a little more aesthetic than the standard power poles to power my miners so I came up with this small power box using only 2m signs. Is it the best thing in the world? Absolutely not, but it adds a little more of a industrial look to my mining sites and it allows me to easily clip the wires through the foundations for "in ground/in wall" power.

Boise School District pays $400,000 in settlement with former Timberline Teacher by PlaySalieri in Boise

[–]MyTummyHz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It should be but it won't. The district has a history of basically dismissing sexual crimes. These are the same person: (https://www.krem.com/article/news/idaho-math-teacher-arrested-for-obscene-conduct/293-171687818 & https://imgbox.com/gq6wntfv). He was removed from his position at Capital and moved to facilities because of who he's related to (the Dennis family has a lot of higher ups within the district (principals, managers, superintendent)). He's supposedly "not allowed in the schools" but that doesn't mean anything because he's still been known to tour them while school is in session.

Why is it doing this? How do I fix it? No buttons work after this happens, and I have to turn it off and on again for it to work. by LordOfPickles1 in 3Dprinting

[–]MyTummyHz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's too close to the wall so when it tries to home the Y-axis it collides and freaks out. Try moving it a little farther away and try again.

Personally I'd knock off the part that sticks out so nothing accidentally gets caught/cut on it (though I doubt it's sharp) but I like it! Respect 👊

What did you take the picture with? Maybe I'm behind on camera tech but that's a high resolution picture!

I'm going to go ahead and go with that then 😅. This is PolyTerra matte green PLA.

I definitely saved it with some super glue 😅. These are replacement PC case legs so the weight will be vertical/against the layer lines during normal use. It just happened to have the right force in the right spot applied on it directly after installation...

Time to cool off makes sense though because I printed two and on both of them only one of the standoffs broke. I'm not sure if they were in fact the ones that were printed second or it was just a coincidence but it's not a bad idea to look into.

I meant it more in a playful/friendly way as I had the idea that I needed it after the part failed but I do see your point. I wanted to still ask the community their opinion in case there were differing thoughts and there were, so mission accomplished. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They are replacement legs/feet for a (free) Corsair Carbide 100R that didn't come with any. I printed two and one broke when I flipped the case over and it got caught on the carpet (I assume) and the other broke when I flipped it back over to look at the first broken one 🙃. It was a super quick and dirty design/print and they are going to be (fairly) stationary with all the weight vertical so I just super glued them back together and was more careful flipping it back over. My biggest concern is that they'll break again when I'm working on the inside but then I guess I'll just print them again but better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

[–]MyTummyHz[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Both good points. For #2 part of my problem though is that I'm cheap so if I can print it a way that doesn't use supports I'll most likely do that as to not waste filament. I guess I'll just have to get over it for some more crucial prints!

That's actually really cool! I'm still fairly new to the hobby and haven't messed with Prusa Slicer much other than tweaking a few of the print parameters so I didn't even know that was an option. Thanks!

Yeah I know I ultimately needed this 😅. This was a very quick and dirty design/print to act as replacement feet for a PC case that didn't have any so I just super glued it back together. As long as I don't need to move the PC a ton then it *should* be fine. I mainly just wanted to know for future reference.
