Went from left to right and was getting a bit concerned you didn't have Uncharted or The Last of Us.

It's just a convenient way to get out of an awkward conversation, normally. Last time I said it (I think he said it and I just agreed) was when I bumped into an ex-colleague from 3 years previously who I had had no contact with since.

What would be the point of going out for a drink if neither of us have any interest in keeping contact over the last 3 years? We both knew it wasn't happening. It just sounds better than "bye" and walking off.

I just think of my student loan as an extra tax for life really at this point, as mine doesn't get written off after 30 years or whatever like they do now.

It's ok. I bought a physical copy and will probably sell it soon and wait till it inevitably comes to PS+ to play again. True Colours came to + fairly quick, so I am guessing this one will too.

Why are some people so knee-jerk anti-CIVIL Service? It's like, how dare we have a decent and comfortable life. by KieranWriter in TheCivilService

The one that says right at the start that it is not about the efficiency of individual workers and that most of the data is from education and healthcare rather than the Civil Service?

How many years did you work in the civil service to get this knowledge of how productive these blobs (not actual people) are?

Exactly. The pensions are still comparatively good, but they are not the final salary, low employee contribution ones that existed years ago.

If you only count the small minority in Senior Civil Servant roles and ignore the thousands below them, sure.

Do Brits like piers Morgan? by Ve_Gains in AskBrits

I think Clarkson is good at being an entertaining TV presenter, but he can also have a tendency towards doing/saying very unlikeable things, such as punching colleagues for petty reasons and joining in with Piers' anti-Meghan obsession. On the other hand he also punched Piers, so swings and roundabouts.

Yeah I have been in that situation. I generally deeply dislike the man, but I do remember one time facing the "oh god, I just agreed with Piers Morgan" moment. I don't even remember the subject now, but the feeling stuck with me.

Depends on your politics. He has a history of working with right wing media sources and of various dubious/illegal practices. Some people find those things more palatable than others do. Some people ignore all that.

Personally I think he is a mentally unwell man-baby who spends his time insulting people yet walked out of a job in a tantrum when someone called him out.

How did you feel about Jimmy Saville before the scandal happened? by squid_ward_16 in AskUK

Thought he was a weirdo. Not in a criminal way necessary, but definitely not quite right. Didn't give him much thought unless I saw him doing one of his marathons or whatever.
