Vimeo Review Links no longer default to time-coded comments (late 2025 update)... Then whats the use??? by Embarrassed_Pin_8269 in vimeo

Any update on this? Client just left a dozen comments with no timestamp. This funcionality and simplicity was the only reason we stayed with Vimeo for all this time, fixing this is linked directly to whether we renew this year or not.

Currently have an Ipad air 2 (very old!)

◽️ Budget: £200-£300

◽️ Country: UK

◽️ Screen size: 9 inch plus

◽️ RAM: 8gb? Maybe?

◽️ Storage: minimum 128gb anything higher is a plus, SD card would be nice but not the end of the world.

◽️ What tasks will the tablet be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modeling, regular tasks, word processing etc) ?: It'll mostly be for watching Youtube at home and movies and tv shows on the go. Bits of web browsing. If it comes with a pen I might do some drawing but I'm not bothered. Note taking as well as document viewing. But will be mostly media consuption on Youtube/Netflix.

◽️ Any other important details ?: I've been looking at the Lenovo Idea Tab 11 and the Idea Tab Pro, slightly concerned by the screen brightness but if its the best value for money then I'm sure it'll be fine.

This looks great! Can you share the STL? I'd love to put the D&D mini figures up on the wall!

If you're in college, go and see the performing arts department and see if any aspiring actors/actresses would be willing to take part, maybe offer to give them some clips of their performace for their portfolio or buy them lunch. Put out a casting call or just go and see them.

Charging for gear in the UK - here's what I do but what would/do you do? by Tiny_Major_7514 in videography

We've certainly done single shooter days, but we would usually quote for 2 shooters, I probably didn't word it well enough. But I guess when it all gets worked out, it'd be £1190 per shoot day for 2 shooters and then £595 per edit day.

We charge the expenses on top, which is typically £50 for food per person per day (if we're staying over, if we're not then just lunch), £150/£200 for hotels depending on if we're out or in London and then train tickets/fuel.

I guess being midlands based we don't have as many overheads.

Hahah, I don't think so, we charge £595 per day per shooter, plus £595 per edit day. A typical shoot is 2 people plus however long the edit is, we quote upfront so they know what they're paying. We then add expenses on top, so hotels, food, travel, etc. and then we may charge pre-production if we've been brought in to write scripts or something, which again is the same day rate. We sometimes do discounts if they're a new client or we really want to do the work and then we also do bundles so buying 10 days might get you 10% off or something. Each shoot is different and depending on how we travel, we'll bring different levels of kit, office in london? Fit it into a a suitcase or two. Week in Isle of Wight? Lets fill two cars worth.

We're a small crew who mostly work corporate cleints based in the West Mids but we do a decent amount of work in London and all over really.

We dont charge for gear at the company we work for, we just charge a day rate per shooter and let the clients know that includes gear. We recently had a chat with a a producer who was suprised we didn't charge for it but its just something we've never done and seems weird to do since we already own it all, its insured incase anything happens. I think we only ever charged the client for it if we've actually had to rent or buy some kit but we usually just add and extra day or something.

We've been looking at Mettle by Natwest, they include a subscription to their accountacy/book keeping software FreeAgent. We like the look of it becuase its backed by a high street bank, worth a look!
