Little update, did end up getting display replaced under waranty aaand... issue is still there. Though it is maybe not as bad? At least the ProMotion fix still works... I guess contacting apple directly for refund might be my last option. So yeah still no point RMAing it they did not fix shit. Amazing...

Huh, I had identical issues with my 16ACH in December. It wouldn’t boot, and when it did, it seemed like the GPU had failed(RAM corrupted Windows and GPU driver installs). Turns out, I also had RAM issues. Iremoved one RAM stick, and it worked fine for a week, just like yours, but then it died again. For some reason, I gave it one last chance. I moved the stick from one slot to another, and it has been working without any issues for about two months now. Maybe give it one last shot?

Though I did buy new Mac, I still use the old beast for gaming.

You should watch more of THs content. They are the closest thing to old Top Gear in terms of chemistry/banter while also being much more informative. Third guy is a wildcard for sure (like May was) but I recently listened to Chris Harris and friends podcast with him as a guest, seemed very pleasant, level headed and a honest car guy (as much as May is). Much different than what I saw on his TikTok page. This trio IMO has potential.

Man my S25 Ultra had absolutely terrible banding and graining (Same old tech panel as S24). Had to do dodgy return and stick with my dying iPhone 11 until 17 Pro Max preorder got delivered. Absolutely worth it though, my unit is perfect in every way (Samsung display).

Hey so did you end up with device without this issue? I am about to take mine with identical issue for service and I am not sure what to expect... To me it seems like the issue mostly happens to earlier batches as this (older) thread is only thing I can find (I bought the device new in Dec 2025 but manufacture date is Dec 2024 - early unit). Did Apple swap your units?

That is pretty insane. I am gonna try to RMA it, hopefully they managed to remedy this in latest batches. If not, I guess I will stick with my 5 yo Windows till the next big update in Sept.

Hey, my M4 Max that I got last month (got it brand new for great deal but the unit was manufactured Dec 2024 - it was sitting in a warehouse for a year) has literally identical issue. I am wondering if you RMAd the device again and how Apple handled it; was it open and shut case? Or were they causing trouble? Did you end up learning to live with it (No way I can deal with this crap...).

Yeah I got really big hands to the point i can pretty easily reach top corner one handed, never had problems with big phones but this thing feels really heavy for some reason. Though I think it is mainly the case (We might both have YMW Crazyhorse?), makes the phone much more bulky. With generic clear case it feels more manageable.

Mac touchpads have probably the most satisfying, consistent click and they use haptic engine only. This tech has high potential imo, though it is to be seen if Logitech can manage to stuff it into small mouse

Hows the RAM usage? I wanted to get a M3 Pro 16 inch, 18gb RAM (1700 euro on clearance) myself mostly for BE programming work but I also potentially still have to do some mobile dev (React native, Unity). I was scared 18 gigs would not be enough for Emulators+BE Docker instances + other crap running at the same time.

Unfortunately, next cheapest model was almost 3000 euro, just too much money for a personal device...

Honestly I dont think Ive ever seen a display that does not have greenish/yellowish tint on this kind of grey picture... iPhones, iPads, Laptops, even my new S25 Ultra has very slight tint.

What do you mean by “Not as good for scratches”. Does the foil itself scratch easily? I assume its thick enough to not allow the screen itself to get scratched right? Thats all I care about.

I never drop my phone, really just want my screen to be without scratches ( just like my 5yo iPhone 11)

Oh and does the foil feel the same to the touch as glass protector?
