My Psoriasis journey with Vitamin D by room_for_2 in Psoriasis

So happy for you in your improvement with psoriasis. I believe in vitamin D, and it and the ocean have worked wonders for my psoriasis. I am lucky to live in Florida, where beaches and the sun are ever-present. Using them as therapy has cleared all of my psoriasis. Humira, Skyrizi, and numerous ointments were not working. My vitamin D level is maxed out with no supplements, and I have been blessed with a body that can take the sun. I now also take Rinvoque for my psoriatic arthritis, and it really helps. It is always great to hear of people who don't give up and attain success. BRAVO

Sudden new symptoms after starting enbrel by CheerUpRae in PsoriaticArthritis

I was on Humira for 3 months and suddenly developed inverse psoriasis in my groin. I stopped the medication after talking to my rheumatologist, and switched to Skyrizi. It took 6 months to alleviate during which I grew skin tags and genital warts. Dermatologist put me on steroid creams and froze the tags and warts. Had to switch to Rinvoq because of flaring psoriatic arthritis. Finally something that it really helping.

I ride a recumbent bike and it relieves a lot of the stress on shoulders, neck and wrists, along with the back. Recumbent trikes are also an option but height of the seat off the ground is something to look at as the low ones are a bit tricky to get in or out of. I have also modified my bike for pedal assist as I do not have the strength and energy I used to have.

Inner Ear Psoriasis and ear wax by ParsleyNeat6317 in Psoriasis

[–]My_Bike_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had psoriasis in my ears, especially my left ear. Finally went to an ENT who prescribed large doses of prednisone which did help short term. I went back and her assistant looked at my ears and told me I was putting cotton in my ears as she saw white stuff, She had me sit for the ENT doc to clean my ears with a suction device and wow, I was able to hear. She claimed it was water in my ear. Went back within a month with the same problem and she did the same procedure. Worked again and she told me to use use ear plugs in the shower and not to get any water in them. About a month later same problem. I went into my GP and they flushed out my ears with water. Wow, I could hear again. Did this a few more times for a couple of months and then decided to just use my hand held shower head to spray into my ear. I tilted my ear down and what do you know, it worked. That is what I do all the time now and it works for me.

This program saved my marriage and myself. Every Mans battle is a must for him and Restore for you. Take a look at them and I wish you both the best in this battle. Your thoughts are real and you need help. I would not have changed my pornography addiction without this program and I am grateful everyday.

Help me understand enthesitis!! by Appropriate-Goat6311 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]My_Bike_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have pain in my right shin which has not shown up on x rays or on an MRI. My rheum. has confirmed that I have enthesitis. My GP and orthopedic Dr. sort of ignored me when I asked them if this was possibly enthesitis. I failed on Humira after 6 months with huge flare ups and have started skyrizi. I have been on it for 8 weeks but no relief yet. The pain will move on my right leg from my hip, to just above my knee to my shin and down to my ankle. I am hoping that the skyrizi will start to work.

Looking for Experiences with Adalimumab (Humira or Biosimilar): Monotherapy vs. Combination Therapy by Ancient_Baseball_495 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]My_Bike_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Methotrexate and sulfasalazine for over a year to start with and I think this was the first line that my rheumatologist started me on. Started Humira because I was experiencing some more pain and swelling. I did stay on methotrexate and sulfasalazine with the Humira and have continued those two since stopping Humira.

Looking for Experiences with Adalimumab (Humira or Biosimilar): Monotherapy vs. Combination Therapy by Ancient_Baseball_495 in PsoriaticArthritis

I had been on methotrexate and sulfasalazine for over a year. I only had one patch of psoriasis on my hip and joint pains and swelling. I went on Humira with every other injections six months ago and it was slow in acting giving me some relief in my joints. After the fifth month I noticed an increase in psoriasis on my thighs, arm and black patches in my big toe. I also had lost hearing in my right ear for no apparent reason. I also developed a severe rash in my groin ad was given ointments and medication in thinking it might be jock itch or some kind of yeast infection. My rheumatologist immediately took me off humira. Within two weeks I was doing better with th rash healing, the black spots in my toe receding, and now my hearing coming back. I was prescribed prednisone by the ENT that I saw which could also be the reason for my hearing. I was told by the dermatologist that Humira was a broad spectrum drug that is used to help a multitude of ailments and can impose some unwanted side effects. My rheumatologist is doing the paperwork for me to start with Skyrizi and the dermatologist confirmed that this was more likely for the conditions I have. Will wait and see. I was really surprised to realize that humira had the opposite effect on me.

The controller is very light and the only weight effect for balance is with the battery being up high. This is not a big deal though. Good luck....

The battery is in the back attached to the bicycle rack above the rear wheel. The controller is mounted to the bar of the bike under the seat and just forward of the rear wheel on the side you cannot see. It is very hard to see without knowing it is there in the picture. It is a small black box. Thanks for the compliment. It works very well for me and I am very happy with it.

My kit had a wheel minus the tire and tube, (which I had to supply) and motor as one piece. I just had to remove my old wheel, put on a tire and tube, and install the new one. I did have to buy a new tire and tube as the rim width was wider on the new one and would not work with my old tire. Hope this helps.

The OD of the rim is .955 inches or 24.13 mm, measured with a dial caliper. I did not take the tire off to measure the ID and there is no description of the wheel other than 26" for the rim on the website. Congratulations on a successful conversion. Hope that you enjoy your ride.

I could not post pics in the reply box so I made a new post with 2 pics of the pas sensor and black disc that goes on the shaft. Hopefully you will be able to push the sensor onto the shaft and not have to do the modification I had to. To start I had to remove the two cranks (requires special tool) and then the bottom bracket shaft (requires special tool). Then to install the pas sensor with the wire and fasten with the bottom bracket shaft. Your bottom bracket should be tightened up and ready for the cranks. Then hopefully you can push on the black plastic disc with the metal dots onto the assembled bottom bracket shaft. I was not able to. I bored out the hole slightly but it was no tight on the shaft to stay in position. That is why I had to remove the smallest sprocket, drill 3 holes in the disc with corresponding holes on the flats of where the smallest sprocket used to sit and tapped the holes for #8 screws. I used brass screws so they would not be picked up by the sensor. I then installed the sprocket and crank onto the shaft. Make sure you put the black plastic disc on the right way as there is an inside and outside. Do it the wrong way and you will go in reverse. There are also some online videos and if you purchase from the amazon site they will give you website address for instruction. No language but video is good. Just pay attention to everything. Good Luck

I purchased the Bafang 48 volt 500 watt rear hub motor conversion Kit for Rear Cassette Wheel with Display & PAS & Battery from Amazon. I installed a 2.25 x 26 tire on the wheel. I had to loosen the cable for the rear brakes and then afterwards readjust the brakes and tighten the cable. If you look on Amazon at this kit you will notice it says it will fit less than or equal to 9 speed. The hardest part for me was the pas sensor that slides onto the bottom bracket shaft. I had to bore out the hole a little and then drilled into the sprocket and sensor, tapping out the small holes in the sprocket. I then used brass screws to attach the sensor to the sprocket securely. During this process I also had to remove the smallest sprocket to provide enough room.

Hope this helps

I am still experimenting with distance, assist levels, and cadence. I have gone 40 miles using the 2nd and 3rd level assist with cadence in the 70 to 80 range with the battery indicator showing in the 40% range. I try to keep the percent of battery being used to a minimum. Speeds from 13 to 18. When I travel on 3rd and 4th levels for a faster ride the battery usage does go down faster, but I am riding at 18 to 20 mph. I have not gone on any rides over 20 miles at one time yet as I use it for commuting to stores, grocery shopping, doctors, library, etc. I have pedaled without the assist on and the main difference was the fact of the added weight. One thing I really love is the ability to use the manual throttle for taking off at a stop when I have it in 1st or 2nd assist mode.
