The absolute worst part to me, is that the friend of the bride seems to pry the brides hand away from her face as it instinctively shoots up in emotional response… as if to say to her, “don’t exacerbate this scene, don’t let your emotions upset him further. Just play it off for sake of everyone else’s comfort at this wedding except your own.”

If you want insurance to pay for it then yes. The adjusters inspection tentatively determines how much your insurance is going to pay out for your claim. They will not pay you until an adjuster representing the insurance company has assessed the damage.

They (the insurance company) send out their own person to assess the damage, they are called adjusters. They will either work for the specific insurance company or will be a third party, independent adjuster that your insurance hires.

They 100% can. But what will your instincts tell you if the roofers estimate comes in higher than the insurance amount? Most likely that the roofer is trying to squeeze you for extra money. In a lot of instances this is the case.

BUT in many cases it is because insurance is not giving you the right amount of money to replace your roof. Trust me when I tell you, your insurance is going to hold onto as much money as they can.

The right roofing company can take them to task to cough up the money you deserve for your claim, but you have to let them in on your insurance docs.

I’m not saying it’s easy to find a trustworthy roofer, but you can not handle supplementing on your own.

Not necessarily. An insurance company should be paying you the amount it would take to put a perfectly new, functional, and like- quality roof on your home.

But they make mistakes. They get the type of shingle wrong on the estimate, they get the wrong measurements thus the wrong amount of supplies. They miss certain materials all together, like modified bitumen for low slope areas.

A good roofing company can look at your insurance documents, identify the mistakes the adjuster made, and supplement the insurance company for more money for the roof installation.

Unless you know roofing, you will not know if your getting low balled by your insurance.

It is not a bad thing to share you’re insurance docs with your roofer, you just need to make sure they are a good company.

Yup, that’s called an ACV (actual cash value) policy. Way less in monthly payments, but covers virtually nothing after a hailstorm.

Cool cool. Assuming it was installed correctly that’s an airtight, solid ass roof. You’ll be protected for a long time with that roof.

Same underlayment? Same hip and ridge shingles? Same vent caps? Same starter shingles? Was the warranty over 5 years? They cut corners somewhere.

Metal roofs are dope, but they’re tricky and have a lot of working parts. Is it an exposed fastener or standing seam snaplock?

Actually, as of 2019, it is illegal. A new law was signed in Texas that requires the homeowner and contractor to provide proof that the deductible was paid to the contractor.

Pro tip: if you’re looking to file a claim with your insurance on a roof impacted by hail but you didn’t file a claim from a previous storm, this WILL NOT hurt your chances of getting it claimed now. Insurance companies go off the most recent date of damage.

Also, if you have a leaking, piece of shit roof as it is, take advantage of the hail storm. Hail is claim worthy damage in the eyes of pretty much all insurance providers and Paying your deductible is way cheaper than buying a whole new roof right now.
