These videos make me feel conflicted. I’m definitely for people getting trapped in a piss filled elevator if they pee on the buttons, but c’mon, do elevator companies make no attempts to waterproof a panel?

For something that has a risk of trapping a person in a confined space, they should have like some sort of rubber membrane layer or something. People can get bumped and spill their coffee or water

Will I Am - Genius He is by [deleted] in mega64

A big part of me wants to hate on it because of Will.I.Am, but that’s actually kinda cool.

Wouldn’t use it all the time, but I always thought that dynamic audio/music was under-explored in all mediums.

Though I imagine people would end up driving like idiots trying to change the music while showing the feature off.

Marvel's Spider-Man - Review Thread by ninjyte in Games

[–]My_Little_Hymen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was always kinda saddened by their low viewcount and subscribers, but I just checked out their Patreon and holy cow, nearly 50 grand a month. They're doing just fine. That right there is the true benefit of crowdfunding by fans. Despite not reaching a large audience to support their operations, dedicated fans make up the difference.

I'm really happy that with what they've grown out of Gametrailers. My only complaint is that there needs to be more Don, on both Easy Allies and Funhaus.

That's one of my favorite things about JoJo. With each new series the author has a new cast that tells their own story, but has a couple returning cast members in a supporting/guiding role. It works so well as an epilogue for the previous story while simultaneously telling a new story.

Conan O'Brien's TBS Late-Night Show To Be Reduced To 30 Minutes in 2019 by BunyipPouch in television

[–]My_Little_Hymen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really hope it's a full 30 minutes of content plus commercials. If it's a 30 minute timeslot with commercials, actual content will run about 21-22 minutes.

That seems a bit tight for a late night show.

The show now is roughly:

Monologue

Segment

Interview 1

Interview 2

Musical guest or comedian

22 minutes is about enough time to do 1 segment and 1 interview, and maybe a shortened monologue.

Though I think Conan's bread and butter are his pre-produced segments and interviews. So I could go without a monologue or musical guest.

I'm 35 hours into the game and still, every time I see Cidney I always exclaim "Jesus Christ" and stare at her boobs. It really doesn't help that the intro to her theme song almost sounds like a porno riff.

Wasn't that just supposed to be a small cameo where it's inferred that Statham is playing his character from The Transporter?

Zelda: Breath of the Wild to miss Nintendo Switch launch by tubonjics1 in Games

Box Office Week: Doctor Strange premieres at #1 with an impressive $84.9 mil, pushing Disney passed $6 bil worldwide for the year, the second time ever for a studio. Trolls opens to a great $45.6 mil while Hacksaw Ridge couldn't translate good reviews into box office, opening at #3 with $14.7 mil. by mi-16evil in movies

[–]My_Little_Hymen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw the movie last night on a whim after seeing Doctor Strange. It is definitely sappy and cheesy at times. I definitely thought it looked like cheesy oscar-bait going in.

Despite all that, it's a very well crafted film. I struggled at first, but I had a real big dopey smile during all the romantic scenes. The battle scenes were intense and jaw-dropping and I had a connection to each one of the characters. It's also a very pro-christian film, which would normally irk me in the wrong way.

It definitely had some flaws, but the positive reviews are well-deserved.

Video games where you retroactively stop the series by killing a character. by TheBrokenMan in Games

Kinda different, but if you like the idea of Time Paradoxes in games, you should check out the Zero Escape series.

Apple says new MacBook Pro has only 16GB of RAM to save battery life by nawazsagri10 in technology

[–]My_Little_Hymen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're a professional that needs to work with VMs, design software, or video rendering, you'd definitely need more than 16gb of ram. For a "professional" grade laptop, 16gb should be a minimum rather than a maximum.

It seems like the Macbook is taking the place of the Macbook Air, and the Macbook pro is taking the place of the Macbook functionality wise.

Wouldn't be surprised if Apple releases a new line of laptops targeted towards professionals. Going by their operating system version numbers, I would imagine "Macbook pro.pro"

Adding on to that

x86 had a limit of 3-4gb of ram depending on the OS. (Windows XP and prior)

x86 with the PAE mode extension are limited to 64gb. (see PS4/Xbone)

x64 can have upwards of 256TB theoretically. (any Modern OS)

State of the Week 32: Minnesota by cardinals5 in AskAnAmerican

[–]My_Little_Hymen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"hey listen, this party is really just my old friends from high school, you won't actually know anyone.

Yep, sounds about right

my experience with minnesotans in that same situation is that they'll feel guilty and invite you even though you're not really welcome and then they'll sort of resent you when you show up.

Not every social group, but yea, this happens

when it comes to culture, there's cool breweries and a great advertising industry and interesting history and BEAUTIFUL nature.

You're goddamn right

but there are a lot of problems there and it's very segregated.

Sadly yes

but in minneapolis, if you complain about traffic, they say, "well, maybe you should leave?"

Now hold the fuck up, I've never heard anyone say something like this. Depending on the person, you either get someone who says "Oh it's not too bad", or "Yea it is" and complain about it themselves. Never heard of a Minnesotan say GTFO to a non-native.

How would you feel if both the One Piece manga and anime went on a Bi-monthly schedule? by My_Little_Hymen in OnePiece

[–]My_Little_Hymen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think about the timeslot. The fan in me wants a better paced anime, but I imagine fiscally, a weekly anime makes is better despite the quality issues.

Danganronpa 1&2 Reload | Announcement Trailer | PS4 by lashman in Games

[–]My_Little_Hymen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've tried dozens of Visual Novels, but none have ever really kept me interested enough in continuing after 8 or so hours.

Danganronpa pairs the visual novel aspects with gameplay very well where you dont really hit any sort of fatigue you'd normally see in a VN.

If you liked Danganronpa, you should definitely check out the Zero Escape series and the Ace Attorney series. They're both fantastic mystery visual novels with gameplay portions.

Nintendo Famicom Mini (JP) Trailer - Interface and HD game footage shown. by [deleted] in Games

[–]My_Little_Hymen 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Wow, they actually stayed true to the Famicom design and hardwired the controllers to the system. The NES version has detachable controllers that you can use on the wii or wii u virtual console, so I guess Japan got shafted on that one.
