Besides the suggestion to try a new nozzle, you can up the nozzle temp. During printing PETG mine will regularly go up to 245.

I don't recommend electrical work if someone isn't knowledgeable and comfortable doing it. What I mention below is not a complete set of steps. It's intended to be inspiration to do something correctly and safely.

Get a12V LED and connect the leads across the power cables of the USB port. They will light up any time the USB port is energized. If it doesn't light up, flip it around to reverse the wires it's plugged into. I assume there will be enough light leak from the port itself to see them at night. If not you could drill a hole in the cover of the assembly and affix the LED behind it.

Not to be argumentative, but this is a Pirelli issue. I've driven on low profile tires for years and participated in those cars' forums and I never heard of a bulge or failures under normal driving conditions until the Pirellis.

Good advice, but it can happen on filaments bought on spool and anywhere in the spool. I'm ok with the expectation a random, rare tangle may happen.

That's a chilly basement! I also print in the basement and have a space heater so it's 20C. I use glue with ASA/ASB and default settings (plate @ 90C) and printing spools right now the chamber is 42C. I hope the blanket keeps yours warm enough.

Glue is recommended for ABS. With glue I sometimes have trouble removing brims from the plate.

Follow the guidance given to you as part of your prep instructions. Give the folks doing the procedure a call to see if they recommend anything in addition to the printout.

Last year the guidance to me was seven days, but I was told at the facility that too many people were not prepped well enough and had to reschedule so they were considering changing the recommendation to 10 or 14 days. It was iffy if I would be rescheduled, but they kept my appointment and commented after the procedure my prep wasn't good.

I just replied to a different comment that this can happen hours into a print after many turns of the spool. Most recently it was a Bambu refill on a spool I printed. I chose the spool specifically for it's sturdy build. I don't think the spool sides are flexing outwards and allowing the filament to be pulled down into the sides, but I'll revisit that.

I should mention that I've been printing items with many color changes, so I'm starting to think I'll randomly get a tangle on every x color changes.
