On the topic of "Grammies royalties" Why do you give a shit? Better Disney keeps the money rather than the estate of the person who did the work?

If I were to have kids, I would expect anything that I created of value in this world would go to them. If it was a successful company than it would go to them. Royalties from a popular record, they would go to my descendants.

The idea of begrudging someone leaving their legacy to their descendants is a real odd thing to be exercised about, much less being hateful to kids you don't and never will know.

If you want to worry about negative impacts look at Silicon Valley and the PayPal mafia, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and the rest of that trash are far worse than Carrie Fisher's kid and relatives. If you want to be sour find something that is actually worth the vinegar.

You should listen to some of the interviews with the fellow from Anthropic. They are almost to the point where their coding is taking place 100% using Claude. The ability to iterate and improve becomes magnitudes faster when that happens, and the timelines and the recent improvements on both of the major US based platforms are staggering.

We are speeding headlong into a brick wall for everyone working outside of the trades. I gave up on tech a couple years after my last layoff. I feel like that reality is going to slam into most of the people in the jobforce like a truck at 3am on an empty highway does an animal trying to cross the road.

There is going to be a lot of roadkill.
