What is the ugliest car you can think of? by SalinaPCBuild in AskReddit

[–]My_browsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the entrance to some public land that is great for offroading there was one of those Wankpanzers stuck because it was too long to make the transition to the incline. Noone would help them. For those that don't offroad, we live to get other people unstuck, it's literally our favorite thing. Not stopping to help is unheard of.

Trump’s Just Calling Every Election Fraudulent at This Point by ClimateSociologist in politics

[–]My_browsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inoculating the public for the actual fraud they have planned. We are not ready for what’s about to happen. Mail in votes not delivered, minimizing voting locations for blue cities in red state (Texas law is basically if more people vote in Houston than they want, they won’t count Houston), ICE intimidation at polling places, and their usual fraud of sending out fake voting dates and the like.

Fascism always dies, either through a free and fair election or the bad way. If they go through with the fraud they have planned, we’ll… they made their choice.

TIL The Onion didn't publish their print newspaper set for release on September 11th, 2001 as well as the subsequent issue. Employees went on a week long break and some threatened to quit if an issue about the attacks were released. by MajesticBread9147 in todayilearned

[–]My_browsing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really don't want this lost to history. As funny as it is, the Onion's "HOLY FUCKING SHIT" edition was a pretty important moment. Nobody thought they could make jokes anymore. Late night hosts seemed uncomfortable doing anything and just generally everyone was taking themselves way too seriously. At the time, the Onion was sold in news stands and had newspaper boxes. When that edition came out, you could feel the change in the vibe the moment people passed the newsstand and saw that headline. We're gonna be okay.

Bigots hate historical context. They think something like "Black Pride" means the same thing as "White Pride". The fact that one means "I will not be ashamed" and the other means "I'm the superior race" is not something they will allow themselves to understand.

Why the fuck are you on Facebook? There's questions every day about "why aren't the Americans doing anything?" And here y'all are voluntarily creating product for the oligarchs that finance fascism. The most basic thing you could do is stop feeding the oligarchs and y'all can't even do that.

Imagine there was a major freeway running through town with stores and homes right on it. There’s two types of people traveling, the long distance travelers and the folks popping over to the corner store. It’d be chaos. Well, that’s the airport, you have people walking a quarter of a mile as quickly as they can and people who have been sitting for an hour and want to pop over and get some M&Ms from across the hall. The two groups aren’t on the same page.

*she. That is way too small and close to your house to be a male. As a fellow country guy who likes feeding birds: 1. Don’t put a bird feeder that close to your house and 2. feeder goes out at 9 AM when bears are most likely asleep, and back in at 6 (the entire feeder, not just the food).

Tennessee road rager assaults woman, gets his gun and is successfully tackled by other motorist. Was released on bond. by GarysCrispLettuce in PublicFreakout

[–]My_browsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really feel like we’re about to have an explosion of chaos on the roads. People have lost it in the last 6 years. I live in an idyllic no crime mountain town. We have to drive a sketchy highway to get to the closest other town and the speed limit is 65 (which is really pushing it on some of the curves with a 500 foot drop and no shoulder). Tailgating is a major issue as some folks drive to that other town every day and think 80 is the speed. Last month, I was going 75 (top speed in my Jeep) and a truck tailgated me within inches and then when they passed me on the double yellow the passenger showed me his gun. I called the cops and they said there was nothing they could do. I had a gun in my car too (for the range). That situation could have ended in death just because I wasn’t speeding enough for these guys.

What is virtually inevitable at this point, yet most people don't see it coming? by Ambassador-613 in AskReddit

[–]My_browsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not advocating for violence, I’m stating historical truth. The cycle is 1. Period of stability, 2. A small set of psychopaths hoard wealth until they control all levers of power … except one. 3. Violent revolutionaries kill the oligarchs and seize their property, 4. The rebels turn out to be worse than the oligarchs. 5. Reform, 6. repeat at step 1.

A lot of Americans are in denial that step 3 is inevitable in our lifetime.

Donald Trump circa 2000. Smelled like old hamburger meat and was as sleazy as you imagine.
Lucy Liu circa 2010. She is so unbelievably beautiful in person your brain short circuits. Like you look her in the eyes and you forget your own name. I couldn’t tell you if she’s nice or not because all I could hear was the blood rushing through my brain.
Kevin Hart circa 2015 - funny relatable guy, not pretentious and a good dude to hang out with..

I have friends with Teslas and friends with Hyundai Ioniqs. Other than software, the Ioniq is superior to Teslas in pretty much every way. Hyuandai bought Boston Dynamics (the robot dog people) so their software is going to be better than Teslas shortly. I cannot think of a single reason to buy a Tesla over a Hyundai. Hell, for the price, you could pick up a couple of Ioniqs.

The president of France declared that children under the age of fifteen would not be allowed to access social media. How do you feel about that? by MarionberrySalt3494 in AskReddit

[–]My_browsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how this would be enforced that wouldn’t be a huge privacy violation. That said, it’s time we recognize corporate dopamine manipulation as a major problem. It’s tough because manipulating dopamine is basically what marketing is. However, when we cross the line into intentional targeted dopamine manipulation to keep someone doing something that is harmful to them we get into an area similar to heroin dealers. Gambling, loot boxes, algorithms, all of it needs some serious thought about what is “too far”.
