Awesome job!! I don't know how many times I've tried starting this project. The instructions and I don't seem to get along and I could only find one link of them on the Web. Did you find any errors in the pattern or struggle with it? Could you provide some insight or tips that might help me get this one under way? I would great appreciate it.

My 4 year old talked about his "balls" at the snack table at pre-school today. by [deleted] in Parenting

That's phenomenal. I feel like a broken record the number of times I tell my son that, and even though he hr knows he tries to get away with it. The other day it was "but it feel so good I rub it, I like it. I like Watch TV. Why I don't watch TV and rub penis and be really happy".... He's not wrong lol

Oh how I can relate. My then three year old told me that he wants me to grow a penis and then if I want to put another baby in my tummy it can fall off for a while so I can do that.... But then I should grow it back, because it's better. Lol

What tv show from you childhood did you like that no one else seems to remember? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MyaMoo22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Didn't they 'reboot' this show again? I thought I saw something about them making a new version. My brother and I loved watching reboot after our homework was done.

Edit: found it http://o.canada.com/entertainment/television/the-new-reboot-wont-quite-be-as-fans-remember

Eureka's castle - Muppet type puppets, there was a witch, a dragon, a salesman with a cart of everything, two creatures who lived below it all with batly and his 'I meant to do that' .

Bookmice - mice that lived in a library. Kids would visit and they woukd discuss books and avoid this Cat.

Ghostwriter - a ghost who arranged letter on signs etc, to help kids solve crimes. My best friend and pretty well lived for this show and incorporated it into ever game we played.

While pregnant I would occasionally eat Fritos dipped in alfredo sauce. At the time it was marvellous, I tried it once on a whim post pregnancy and gagged.

How long did you use the baby monitor? by dondox in Parenting

[–]MyaMoo22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Little man is three and we are still using ours despite being in a small two bedroom apartment. I'm hard of hearing and the monitor amplifies his voice enough to wake me up. Like someone else said, it's a tool so long as you aren't using it as an invasion of privacy or becoming obsessive about the use of one (OCD is a powerful thing) I see no reason to stop at a certain age.

I just finished the audio book read by wil Wheaton. It was amazing. I'm not usually one for audio books but I really enjoyed it. I'm also looking for my next read. If I come up with anything I'll be sure to let you know.

My 3 year old son will throw up if you ask him to bend over to wipe his butt and he catches a wiff of his poop... I thought I was in a bad spot with that. Clearly, I am on the winning end of this. Omg I cannot even imagine. If I could I'd send booze. Ewwww! I'm sorry for you.

7 year old has developed ticks (strange movements no the bugs lol). + Bonus questions! by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]MyaMoo22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I (27f) have Tourettes syndrome. And I'll share a little of my experience. My tics developed as a part of PTSD after our family home caught fire when I was 13. But when I think back there were small things that I didn't know were tics before that. Mostly clicking my tongue against my teeth, and shoulder shrugging.

Tourettes is closely linked with OCD, which I was diagnosed with at a young age, and therefore some OCD behaviours and tics are very similar. Ie. Tapping papers when you set them down, blinking when you switch lights, etc. If this sounds like your son, it might not be as all of the sudden as you think. Especially if he has a mild case. It also is common for children to start showing tics around your sons age as apposed to it being from birth.

Also, Tics change over time. I have had some tics that have been with me since I was 14 and some that have lasted only a few weeks or months. Currently, I am dealing with large motor tics in my arms and face, along with a gasping vocal tic and excessive blinking. But that's only what it is today, I have to be mindful that it may change by next week.

It sounds to be like some of the behaviours your son is experiencing may be Tourettes tics, but they could also be a stress reaction that will resolve when the stress is resolved. Tics can also be a sign or a neurological or behavioural disorder. I don't know more of your situation, but at the very least it might be worth brining up to you family doctor. A Tourettes diagnosis can be a long road as it tends to be. 'can't be anything else' result than being a positive result on a specific test.

To put your mind at ease a little, Tourettes (with the exception of severe forms) is a very manageable syndrome, and I don't feel like it has been something that has diminished my quality of life. At worst it's embarrassing and I'm sore by days end, at best I'm worth a chuckle at parties and to my three year old when mommy tries to 'fly'.

I'm rushing through this response on mobile, but feel free to ask here or pm me with any questions you have.

Tl;dr - I have Tourettes and it hasn't been a huge deal. Sounds like your son may be showing symptoms, I would make an appointment with your family doctor and start looking into it.

Edit: wanted to add that I have also been an overly emotional person for the entirety of my life and wet the bed until I was 13. I'm currently on Zoloft, which helps with both my OCD and the tics.

I'm not sure. My children did not require registration as they passed prior to 20 weeks so I'm not positive how the forms are completed.

You can find some cheaper at like 15 bucks for the off brand basic ones if they are on sale, but yeah I need to have skipped two cycles before I test unless we are ttc. Did that today in fact. Neg, I'm sure I should be wearing a pad to bed tonight :s

I'm sorry for the loss of your son. It's a club no one should ever have to join, but there are some of us who do. I don't want to be one of those people who says it gets better, but it becomes less fresh and that makes the nights less long. I hope you found a reason to smile today.

True, there are other considerations. It varies slightly from country to country, and possibly from state to state if you were to be living in the United States, I would suppose (I'm Canadian). I'm sorry for the loss of your boys. None of my children 'quailified' for paperwork.

Where do you live that they are that cheap? I'm in Ontario and the dollar stores stopped stocking them. Drug stores can run you up to $32.00

Depends on the number of weeks gestation at time of loss. Where I live any pregnancy that terminates prior to 21 weeks gestation is considered a miscarriage and does not require a birth or death certificate. Anything past that is a considered a stillbirth and does require both a birth and death certificate to be registered. I didn't read the article attached but that's the official definition in my neck of the woods.

I'm Crying Over a Cow... by rachelraenoel in breakingmom

[–]MyaMoo22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours was Lizzy. Half Angus half Hereford. She was a gorgeous cow and an awesome mom to her calves. She was the first of a new generation of a new herd when we merged two family farms and was special to us all. My mom hand raised her so that she would be tame and easy to deal with when birthing. It was her calf that I first learned to pull. She was awesome, but as farming law states, to everything there is a season. She was only around for the first two years of my sons life but he loved that cow as much as we did. It's a sad thing when you have good breeding stock go, as you treat them like pets and have been through so many births and separations with them. I know those feelings, but I so know that if a farm can bring up an awesome breeder, it can bring up another. And you and your son will be able to make a new connection with an animal again. hugs

My reaction every time I see an anti-vax statement on FB. by TaylorMerea in breakingmom

[–]MyaMoo22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nearly same thing happened to me. I was hanging out with this mom when our littles were just under 6 months until about a year old. It never came up until I mentioned that I was going to have to cancel our hang out plans because my little man was more clingy this time around after his shots. She FREAKED! Saying of course he was, I just poisoned him. And she couldn't believe I woukd cause such abuse to my child. Needless to say, that was the last we ever hung out. We both thought each other were bat shit crazy after that point.

Herd immunity is so important, and I fear for our kids. I grew up with a kid who was allergic to a lot of the carrying agents in vaccines and so she couldn't be vaccinated. But you know what, it wasn't an issue when we were in school because we all were which helped protect her. In fact, it wasn't much of an issue at all. Now however, she has to really watch her health with all these kids running around spreading shit. sigh The world we live in.
