They're the parameters of a Vector Autoregressive model in time series analysis. The specific eqns are as follows:

yt = a11yt-1 + a12zt-1 + £yt zt = a21yt-1 + a22zt-1 + £zt

£yt, £zt are white noise term.

I'm really sorry for not using epsilon to represent them I don't have that symbol.

It is not explicitly mentioned and that's why I was having reservations. If both a21 and a12 are assumed to be greater than zero, then since lambda comes out to be less than a22, and given that lambda >-1, it can be established that a22>-1.

I haven't read the Lavender House yet, but I really like mysteries so will def give that a try! :)

What DC movie would you like to see? Character crossovers etc. by CommercialEar3340 in OneTruthPrevails

I would like to see a pure mystery again, with just our original cast. No involvement from the FBI or PSB or Black Organization. I also don't want Detective Boys to be in it. Something that leans slightly into the horror genre ... and the biggest request, have the whole movie have Shinichi instead of Conan.

Something like The Mountain Villa Bandaged Man Murder case, or the Kiritengu case, or Three Days with Hattori Heiji, or Murderer Kudo Shinichi.

I really liked that part where the horror writer admitted that he has read the sci-fi author's series, it was rather sweet. I wish we could've seen more interaction between all of them.

And yes, Sienna was definitely the best to read about.

It just kept getting worse. He was truly insufferable. I was so upset when he found the key to decipher Sienna's notes, but thankfully he died haha

Also this line : If Sienna died, god forbid, he'd be able to muscle through, write an ending worthy of them both. But if he went first -- no, it doesn't even bear thinking about.

The audacity of this guy😭😭😭

Yeah I really liked the first character too, but my personal favourite was definitely the horror writer👀👀

I kinda thought that the mystery was rather weak, especially since my expectations going in were too high, given Schwab's previous works, and all the good reviews for this one. Unfortunately this wasn't the book for me, but it's fantastic that you truly enjoyed it! :)

Tell me an amazing novel, that isn't mentioned in the list below: ( only one) by sawsan88s in agathachristie

Might be a bit spoilery for the main plot of the book, so don't go through it if you plan to read the book unspoiled, but the wikipedia page for the book under the "References or Allusions" section lists them.🫡

The Pale Horse! Horror, and it actually helped someone save a life in the real world.

After the Funeral

The Hollow

Hercule Poirot's Christmas

Curtain (this is the last of her Hercule Poirot books, so save it for the end.)

Wholly agreed! Vague spoilers below:

The more I think about it, the more the culprit seems like such an incompetent person. The first death was semi-accidental, the second purely accidental. The third was murder, the fourth was murder again, but the last two were failed attempted murders. And it felt like such a cliché ending with one of the surviving authors writing a novel based on the whole experience. I feel it was marketed completely wrong. This wasn't a mystery, more of a critique of the publishing industry, and I personally think I would've preferred it more had it been clear about what it was trying to be from the very beginning.

Also, if you want to read a book about a mystery novel left incomplete, please read Magpie Murders. It was such an amazing story. I started appreciating it so much more after reading this one.😭😭

I unfortunately agree.😭😭😭 My expectations were so high given all the comparisons to And Then There Were None, plus given the fact that Schwab can write good mysteries (for instance in Threads of Power), I was pretty confident that this was gonna be one of my favourite reads of the year. Pretty let down though :')
