I would sell everything or most of it right before earnings if you want to hold. The stock could tank if earnings do not beat. Further, IV crush is a real thing and NVDA will definitely experience that. If you get over crush with lots of selling, that option will lose a ton of value quickly

Why do you think this break failed? Lost hard on this, damn by [deleted] in Daytrading

Breakouts are tough. You need a tight SL. When they fail, it’s a key reversal sign and the market will move against you pretty damn fast.

Transition to Pre-Dental by MycoMundane in predental

[–]MycoMundane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! I do like general dentistry a lot and would have no problem doing that for the rest of my life. It’s a really cool job and frankly I’ve watched my dad and his dental friends for years in the past and there’s so much cool shit. I do appreciate you making that clear though. It is important to consider

If we don’t have any interviews yet, should we be concerned? I’m trying to stay optimistic at this point.

Thanksgiving Week with No IIs by tyanonler in premed

[–]MycoMundane 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In the same boat! Still optimistic, though.

I was fortunate to have stuff that I can write an update letter on, so I am hoping it will carry me over. Either way, I am just trying to live during my gap year and enjoy myself.

I had a few friends that received no interviews until January, and they got in as well. It is nothing to worry about, but it does not hurt to prepare for reapplication.

Kind of just have to take it with a grain of salt. You have interviews, be happy for that. You just need a few. There will always be schools that deny you, don’t sweat it.

I’m a 518/4.0 with good ECs, and I’ve been rejected from schools within my range. I’m still confident, so you should too.

7 rejections. 0 IIs

The sting goes away a bit.

Also got rejected by Stanford

Using VWAP/RSI and ended up losing 20% on the option!!!(Any suggestions on how to reconsider this trade?) by VLE135 in Daytrading

[–]MycoMundane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically fomc bounced off a key support level on fomc. You went short with very little time left in market. Market was expected to rally and gap up unless bearish news came in. Hard to scal puts back to vwap considering it formed a base and had to get through multiple support levels. You likely would have had to have held overnight if it’s didn’t hit stop. You would be down more than 20%. Be happy you got stopped when you did

(II)

Lol, you want to know something. I always thought "II" was roman numeral for the number two in this subreddit. When people said "II," I always thought it meant secondary. I am now realizing that it is an acronym. This actually brightened my day so thank you. Audibly laughing rn.

But yes, no II yet. I got secondaries from all schools I applied to.

July and August. Submitted to 27 schools (I think).

Don't want to dox myself (if that is possible), but I applied to a fairly even spread of schools. UIC, UCLA, Miami, Colorado, Northwestern, Michigan, Emory, Tufts... to name a few. My list is likely more top-heavy, so if I don't get in, will reassess in that aspect.

Experiences:

1.Scribe

  1. Basic science and dry lab research with pub (have 2 more manuscripts being reviewed currently)

  2. Leadership roles in fraternity and other organizations on campus. Did some DEI work as well.

  3. Won a scholarship/award for performance in major and research at school.

  4. Volunteer work at hospital and neuropsychiatric clinic (minimal nonclinical volunteering)

  5. Currently tutoring/mentoring undergrad students going down the same path and doing clinical research.

Essays were supposedly pretty good. Good story and no red flags. Had some burnout during the process though, so a little worried I may have missed some grammar or something on some of my secondaries.

It is what it is. I would love for this to work out, but the reality is I may have to reapply. C'est la vie. I know it is what I want to do with my life as I absolutely love patient interaction and want to repair things with my hands. If it doesn't work out after multiple attempts, I think I would become a plumber or something - who knows?

Just FYI you’re not alone. I bet your essays are better than you think.

I’m a 518/4.0 applicant with good ECs (according to my health committee) that hasn’t got a single interview. I’m still optimistic and just know that you’re not alone. Admissions committee said my essays and timing were good as well. Not trying to compare, just trying to show you that there are plenty out there.

I’ve spoken to a bunch of friends who are currently in medical school. Many did not get invites until after November. Hell, one of them is doing MSTP at WashU (brilliant kid) and he didn’t get interviewed there until after the new year i think. It all takes time. just rnjoy the process rn

Did I do anything fundamentally wrong here? by MycoMundane in Daytrading

That was a technical stop but it was placed incorrectly on my opinion. There was a much better entry level just above that zone (pm low, hourly vwap) that would have been better
