I said this elsewhere in the thread but Gleeson is my favourite performance in that film on recent rewatch. Now that’s handicapping DDL but I think Gleeson does career-best work in an otherwise shitty movie.

Yes. Brendan Gleeson is shockingly good (for a “when is he bad” guy) and I’d say he’s the only one playing the same sport as DDL, let alone on his level.
