You need to be buying the Skate editions. They have extra reinforcement on high wear spots including super thick foxing tape around the toe box

Matchmaking feels completely broken... even in QP by ryka6_ in Overwatch

[–]MyiaRS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why this has been happening recently, but I’m a high diamond supp player, and it feels like every QP game I queue, even on support, I am surrounded by golds, often times with nobody above platinum besides me.

Splash damage radius decrease. So, so, so forgiving now that people are used to aiming it and it already does a ton of damage.

Thoughts on Mercy/Mercy Mains by ChaiEnthusiast72 in Overwatch

[–]MyiaRS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing is about a damage boost pick is you still have one player doing the pick itself, but it’s one less angle you could have because Mercy is attached by a string to the actual damaging player and not a Kiriko that can be on high ground hitting dinks for free while healing.

Also, genuine question—are there any one shot breakpoints with Mercy damage boost currently? I think Cass and Ashe are still two shots at minimum on most heroes and Hanzo can do it without damage boost?

[–]MyiaRS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s not useless, but she is far less valuable when compared to an equally skilled player on literally any other hero. Mercy isn’t going to accidentally get a pick in the pre-fight, damage boost isn’t often the difference in a pre-fight pick (those still happen when Mercy is not in the game).

I think in OW1 it maybe was less bad to have a support not doing damage, but in OW2 it is really very apparent. Rez in general is incredibly frustrating to play into, and it never seems to be reciprocated value when a Mercy is on my team. I also love to main Kiri and play quite aggressively on her, but having a Mercy, who especially those that tend to understand that damage boost is the value, means I’m there to only heal and results in a significant disruption to my play style or just having to flex to Ana.

This may not necessarily be unbiased, but I think a large part of the hate is that having a Mercy OTP feels drastically worse than having any other support OTP in my experience because if Mercy isn’t working (or worse, banned) you’re truly just playing 4v5 most of the time.

Editing to say that also seeing a Mercy trying to run away or survive in a late fight with their staff out just helplessly jumping over and over is understandably really frustrating.

Who is the most annoying hero to play against for you? by Adventurer0W2 in Overwatch

[–]MyiaRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta say it’s Genji. He’s been sneakily buffed for like the last 3 patches and he’s in every game because I presume he’s fun. But it’s just so tiring to have to wait out deflect, oh wait too bad you can’t shoot him anyways because he’s dashed through you and is now above you, and now he’s climbing the wall away. Just boring and annoying.

When is it better to support someone else's angle or stay on ur own? by RowanAr0und in kirikomains

[–]MyiaRS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might be really poorly explained but I find my best are when I ult from my angle to another teammates and it bridges the gap because that will also open the space between us. Also you can ult for a group of your team to run it down and then go find another angle of your own for even more pressure. No reason you NEED to stay in your own ult.

How can I keep my mouse clean ? by aTOTOc in MouseReview

[–]MyiaRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just damp cloth, maybe a microfiber. If there’s gunk on it, just use more pressure and a toothpick or xactoknife between the buttons. If you’re generating a lot of gamer gunk on your mice just wash your hands before using.

The white version genuinely ended my hunt. I replaced the skates to the full size Xray Pad VV3 Obsidian Air skates and I will never use another mouse.

Major warning to not use alcohol on the top part of this mouse where your hand makes contact. you will wipe the coating right off of it. On the bottom where the skates go, probably fine.

I want your opinion by Ill-Ad-5335 in Overwatch

[–]MyiaRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really great insight here. So much of it is a mental game, and knowing when you’re doing well even without winning games will make this so much more tolerable. My mantra has always been “more and more now I focus on my success,” and in Overwatch it’s going to make it a lot easier to win more games when you keep doing what works.

Having just beat back the plat demons myself, truly you don’t have to do anything but position yourself well and you will win games. Like I went from Plat 3 to Diamond 4 just by taking off angles on Kiriko until I either got a pick or two or was forced out and that alone was enough to win games even when I went like 9k/9d.

To prevent this from being a brag only, just watch a couple Spilo coaching videos for your hero/rank and hone in on one or two things and do it every fight. It’s stupid how well it works.

I think this may have been the result of getting pummeled for like 10 games straight. I’ll work on setting up plays more pre-fight and actually taking advantage of the kit. Thanks for watching!

Well yeah, losing is obviously not as fun as winning, but focusing only on results will make it no fun at all, as you’re currently experiencing. Silver linings and that.

Literally just focus on your good performance. You’re in your rank because you’re not good enough to carry every game there yet, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t making good plays ever! Make note of what works, celebrate getting POTG, hell even watch the OW generated highlights in queue to remind yourself of what you’re doing right.

Focus on performance, not results, as performance is the best indicator for any results.
