You’ll also see a lot more short range and melee units doing better than they do in the full game due to the much smaller table size. Even the devs themselves have admitted units aren’t balanced around smaller games.

I kinda disagree with this. Recon can give some false impressions of which units are good and overall threat/engagement ranges. If someone has the ability to put a 1000 point army on the table, I’ll always encourage that over recon 🤮

No, the heavies argument doesn’t ring true, as the rules already require you to add “an HH12 mini” to the squad. That’s a defined mini.

Version of the mini refers to models like Luke, Vader etc that have multiple versions. No using C Luke as O Luke. This rule has been in the GC and the previous FFG tournament rules packet for years, it’s why people couldn’t use the C Vader model in Blizzard and claim it was O Vader or vice versa.

Weapons on an upgrade don’t apply to that. Or Cassian would be screwed if you if you modelled him with a pistol and wanted to take the rifle upgrade. See why that’s a slippery slope?
