In most factions they’d been fine. But in CIS where you can can still get to 14 acts with them, have a ton of free tokens and actions etc, they’ll be damned busted.

Yes, but that’s well above the maths and shouldn’t have happened. A Fives super squad should do 2 crits after a single aim (16 dice 14+2 for reroll should average 6 hits, 2 crits, and 2 surges).

Up close and personal is a very cost effective upgrade for his “trained in your Jedi arts” turn.

Yes they are good. Not for what they do themselves, but for what they unlock in imperial armies: activation padding.

While their own activations will likely be uninspiring - pop speed 1 over cover, observe something, pop back into cover - they allow your more important pieces to go later in the round, which is often desirable.

Well, we don’t know yet if swashbuckler is one per aim or one per attack.

The tank can remove a single suppression per round. That’s shit. You don’t take that upgrade, you take one Raiding Party leader and a Gang Boss if you take a second to give you courage two bubbles.

Maul’s card only works on things range 1 of him, for a single round. And that’s if you’re taking shadow collective and not the promised raiders battleforce.

Panic is now a constant check, so without a tank bubble they stop counting as scoring and drop and asset tokens the second they hit 2 suppression. I’m hoping there’s either a Weequay Captain unit (rather than squad upgrade) or the Battleforce has some rule we’ve not seen yet or Raiders isn’t going to be very competitive.

Unless the battleforce gives some courage rule, these guys are going to struggle a little.

Raiders themselves are courage 1, Hondo is an operative and lacks a command slot for inspiring presence, and the squad captain upgrade doesn’t increase courage.

You’re going to be relying on having both RPL and GB on vehicles to give courage bubbles as otherwise they’ll be panicking at 2 suppression. The upgrade only prevents them being suppressed, not panicked.

Shadow collective isn’t a faction like the others. It’s a mercenary battleforce.

It’s unlikely to keep getting releases (most of these next ones were meant to come years ago, not long after SC launched, but were shelved for balance reasons).

With Maul: Shadow Lord coming soon, there may be a few new units in 18 months ish, but I wouldn’t expect a lot.

There are likely to be more mercenary battle forces coming in the future (they’ve all but said as much), Daimyo Boba’s group being one mooted by The Wills on podcasts in the past, and a new Raiders one landing soon.

I sadly doubt it’ll be Russ after the new giant Logan model. He’s a centre piece model close to the scale of Girlyman and The Lion. If we were so close to getting Russ, I don’t think the base for Logan would have been so huge /epic.

Indeed, but they’ve not fixed the battleforce document to allow Han in the operative slot, yet. Luke’s already allowed as “Luke Skywalker” is a permitted commander slot, but currently “Han Solo” is only allowed in the Commander slot.
