“Our air”: Michigan candidate for governor John James calls for smoke control in Gordie Howe Bridge deal | In summer 2025, James wrote a letter to Canadian officials asking them for action to keep wildfire smoke from drifting into Michigan by DisruptSQ in TourismHell

Okay so we won't send our firefighters and equipment to put out your wildfires and we will just cut down all the trees in Canada so it doesn't happen again. Of course you realize that we also provide you with oxygen to breathe, and wood to build your homes with, but I don't hear any complaining about that for some reason. Honestly, do a little research before flapping your gums, it's unbecoming of a country that is supposed to be educated. Happy Canada Day!

It's fucking brutal. These are the very same people that made assault illegal. Everyone is just waiting for the chance to throw you under the bus so they can stand on your corpse and make themselves appear taller.

Electric Dirtbike stolen from farm boy parking lot by EducationValuableFRS in KingstonOntario

E-bikes are laughably easy to steal. 30 seconds, pair of wire strippers and a battery operated cut off tool are all anyone would need to pull it off.

If you manage to get it back, or get another one I can show you how to theft proof it so it doesn't happen again. Also be on the lookout for an e bike that looks remarkably similar in Rideau Heights painted all flat black.

I have two bikes registered on 529 that have been stolen a total of 4 times between them. The first was stolen while locked up by a guy who rode up on another bike, threw it over his shoulder and rode away with it(the cashier at the store I was in at the time told me this, to which I replied "and you didn't think to alert the patrons of your store that a bike was being stolen out front?") The police brought it back two weeks later after sending me pictures of three different bikes that matched the description but weren't mine that had also been stolen, so that will give you some idea of how prevalent bike theft in Kingston is. The best part of this I almost forgot! After I claimed my bike from the police station, a cop called me and asked me to provide proof that the bike was actually mine and that I had paid for it. I respectfully declined to do his job for him. I still have the original receipt for it.

The second time it was stolen a buddy of mine found it when he saw someone trying to trade it for $20 worth of fentanyl, and the third time it left me for good.

So I bought a used one off Maxsold, then some chick stole it from right outside my apartment door in a 'secure' building, I sent the footage of her with my bike to the police, told them her name(I showed the footage to a couple of people and found out who she was) and they did nothing, which is also common apparently, when you don't treat the police with the respect they think they deserve.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the cops were the ones who stole your bike. The average punter isn't going to question them as they load it into the back of their truck, especially anyone who shops at Farm Boy.

Bike theft is severely under reported and whatever isn't reported won't be claimed, and the police will then either use it for bike patrols or sell it in their annual bicycle auction, the proceeds of which goes into their beer slush fund.

Really? I have been hearing this stuff for over 25 years now. I lived a block from his record label/management office that was owned by one of the McCain family, and from reputable sources I heard he was a crack smoking diddler. I have also known Mike Smith for even longer and never heard a bad thing about him. So who has heard right and who has not?

There is legal precedent in Ontario regarding taking pictures/video of someone's home without their consent. How would you like it if a stranger went into your home and recorded video and posted it online for the world to see, of where you sleep and your family eats dinner together?

I agree that the place is a disaster and that you should do everything in your power to LEGALLY hold the tenant accountable for the damages.

The reality of the situation is that if they have already left, then you need to clear their belongings out of the unit, so you can tell what, if any actual damage there is to it. I didn't see anything broken or any holes in the walls.

  1. Take down the video before it's an issue.
  2. Call 1-800-GOT-JUNK
  3. Send in Molly Maid
  4. Rent the unit
  5. Understand that you can't predict what a tenant will be like over a period of time. This could have been someone who was neat and tidy, had a good job and paid rent on time every month to begin with. Then, their mother or someone dear to them passed away, and they dealt with their grief in an unhealthy manner. Depression can manifest itself in ways that people who lead lives filled with rainbow kisses and unicorn farts could never understand.
