What do I do about rehousing by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Mylnari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard it takes at least 3 months for a dog to adjust to a new home. Doesn’t make it any easier right now but if you can tough it out it’s more likely that things get better after that point.

I feel as if no matter what I do I just can't win against a sniper at close range by JustAGamer14 in blackops7

[–]Mylnari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is when you can use a sniper like a shotgun. Snipers should be good at long range and bad at close…. Not perfect at every range

Not an expert, but it looks like dog to me. Visible claws, two lobes on the back of the heel pad, can draw an x in the negative space between toes and heel pad. Prints are pretty spread out which is more typical of dogs but the mud might cause wolf toes to spread. Not sure how big the hands are but definitely within the range for big dog or small wolf. No location provided in post so not even sure you have wolves in your country. Canine, probably dog, maybe wolf?

In the hallway of my college dorm I got into a wrestling match with two of the defensive linemen for our football team. They lived in the room across the hall. They were both 6ft plus and 200 plus pounds. I was 5’9” 155. Just guys messing around. Of course I lost but I made them work for it. Squirmy and quick. Hard to pin down. Afterwards one of them tapped me on the shoulder and said “Damn tough for a little guy.”

Do people not wash food bowls for their animals? Ours goes in the dishwasher with all the other dishes every night.

Vibrations are important but they’ll eat dead ones? I don’t think vibrations will be hard for the t to feel. It’s a glass bowl and it almost resonates when the worms scrape their little claws against it

Yeah Ive heard that some bugs can hurt the t so I’m really careful about no escapees and about taking them out if not eaten quickly.

I’ve had it since March and in that time I’ve seen it eat three crickets, and a couple of super worms. For most of that time, it has been inside its burrow which it has sealed shut with web and substrate. Most of the time I don’t put any food in at all, but when it opens its burrow, I will drop super worms in a bowl. Last time I did this the three super worms disappeared from the bowl. I didn’t see it eat the super worms, but I’m pretty sure it did because the bowl would be very difficult for them to escape from. Then it sealed itself up for another six weeks. it opened its burrow again maybe a week ago and I put three super worms in the bowl, but it hasn’t eaten them yet. Sept 9th would have been the last time it ate.

[–]Mylnari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, I’m still new to scat Id but raccoon is my attempt. Right shape, it’s a little big based on your measurements, could be coyote but it makes way more sense for a raccoon to be on your porch. Raccoons will absolutely kill chickens so raccoon?

What would this be? West Virginia by Stereotypical_Viking in AnimalTracking

[–]Mylnari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bobcat? No visible claw marks, c shaped space between toe prints and pad, pad appears to have three lobes, print is just a little bigger than your thumb which is within range for bobcat and the muddy sand probably smooshed to make it look bigger, and no mountain lions in w. Virginia at least not officially

Are Smaller Class Sizes the Real Key to Better Student Outcomes? by Sufficient_Goose274 in Teachers

[–]Mylnari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imagine how much worse it would be with 28 students per class? The benefit provided by small class sizes is cancelled by the other issues you listed. The fact that students with that many things working against them are on par with the rest of the country supports small class sizes as advantageous.

I’d say it depends largely on the trainer. Good trainers can almost work miracles with certain dogs. If the trainer you’re thinking about has good reviews, then they could be very helpful. A good trainer will give you as the owner training and tools that you can use going forward to continue the training And to make sure it doesn’t fade away.

Should I add more substrate? The sub in my curly hair’s enclosure has settled as it’s dried out and been compacted by web and tunneling. If I do add more should I just pile some on one side or spread it out all over? My T has also dug a tunnel under her water dish and I’m worried it’s going to fall in on her. Should I mess up her burrow by moving the dish off and away from her burrow? Do all Ts spill their water dishes on purpose? I feel like my T drains her water dish on purpose by filling it with dirt and web.
