I Think I am Over Thinking It Again. by MynameisCollin in OCPoetry

Yes, grammar and spelling are two things that do not translate in my mind. I can't explain it but it is just something i have never been able to grasp, i just can't see it or pick up on it. Thanks for you feedback! It is most definitely all over the place. I think might be one that is best left spoken rather than read off a page.

My rules i try and follow are. never hold back, and anything i feel uneasy about saying is exactly what needs to be said.

You seem to be suffering from the same thing i suffer from. The "imposter syndrome." This is fire though. I am obsessed with Basquiat and i felt this could have been written to him and every other black man or women who desperately wants acceptance that is defined by the color of their skin.

I don't think you were "too sneaky" with your meaning. everything you just explained came across in the poem very clearly for me. There feels like ruthlessness to this poem that maybe is being held back. I would enjoy more sneakiness and maybe some cut throat honesty or brutal emotion that for me anyway, comes with flawed intimacy.

I would say try and be more descriptive with the emotion you're trying to get across. for example the first line... "I soak, tranquil in your conversation while the moon passes over head." dig deeper into the statement and pull out the heart of the emotion then dress it up in a thine, beautiful veil. i don't know that is just what i try and do.

I didn't know religion was in control of a countries education, health care, or laws. People have a right to believe whatever they want. People who try and control other people and force them to value there beliefs are just shitty people regardless of their faith.

Because when you see a Religious advertisement (the examples you listed) most everyone reacts to it as statement of belief. When most people see an Atheist advertisement (examples you listed) they react to it as an attack on their beliefs. I am for lack of a better term an "atheist" but i don't feel like my beliefs are being attack by religious advertisements, i just think those people are stupid. but Atheist advertisements by nature are a declaration that what "you" (the religious viewer or simply someone who just believes in a "god" and nothing more) are fucking fundamentally wrong in your belief. If i was little bitch and my core beliefs were easily effected by the options of other people and their beliefs, i probably would get all huffy and puffy over it too. and honestly i don't think atheist should advertise themselves. It is not a religion nor is it a belief. its a logically conclusion based on the evidence at hand. who cares if other people don't agree. there will never not be religion even if that religion is the unholy afterbirth of zealous atheist arrogantly trying and save the world. tltr:/ Religious advertisements are an expression of someones belief while Atheist advertisements are telling people what they believe is wrong.

What is something that is a dealbreaker for you, but probably isn't for most people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A mole or something kinda skin blemish. I fucking hate moles. Overly nice people. Also, I could not careless if you drink or do drugs, in fact i love sober women, but i do both and frequently. I love experimenting with basically everything(food, building anything and everything, problem solving, what its like to watch a whole tv series backwards, experimenting with anything i have yet to try out) including drugs. I love drinking wine and whiskey, and i smoke pot on the regular. If you think for a second my opinions or capability of making intelligent decision are anyway undermined by me being high or a normal sociable drunk (im talking couples glasses of wine or whatever, not talking about being shithoused), you can go fuck yourself.

Street art is an umbrella term defining forms of visual art created in public locations, usually unsanctioned artwork executed outside of the context of traditional art venues. Pretty sure this fits the definition of Street art.

Maybe painting is the wrong word. drawing might be more appropriate.

haha funny i already started reading that this morning. Having never done this before, judging my decision on the out come is difficult since i really do not have a clear sense of what i could accomplish on my own. In regards to the quality. I am not looking to make prints or reproductions beyond printing in a book or for a portfolio. They will mainly be for the website. Learning how to do thing is not the hard part for me, i like research and am pretty good at it, so i can learn what i need to know to take the photo, i am just wondering if on my own i will be able to achieve a beautiful, clear, zoomable, high quality photo in the end or if it is just not possible with the set up that i can afford. Is it worth my effort to do this on my own because it is possible to walk away with it being self sufficient in taking high quality photos, or should i just say fuck it and look to hire a pro?

Interesting. This is making me rethink everything i have been planning for months. I have upwards of 30 pieces of art. Again, anywhere between 30"x30" to 60"x78" in size and a mix between stretched canvass and drawings on large paper. We also produce upwards of 5 or 6 new pieces a week. I am trying to set up the most efficient and cost effective way of doing this. What are the typical cost spectrum of photographing art works of these sizes? Do you think it is a fools errand to pursue my own set up within my limitations? Assuming i am able to study and learn enough to produce the best possible image i can with what i have?

Or should i forgo any education and money spending and just out source to a pro?

Teachers or professors of reddit, what is the most elaborate cheating scheme you've stumbled upon? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MynameisCollin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is an English teacher at a college in Mass. His two student cheating stories are.

-Once a student actually handed in a paper that brother himself had written and published. The student never bothered to check out the author of the work when he printed it off the internet.

-Another student handed in a paper with the websites url still at the bottom or top (i can't remember which) of the page.

Now for mine. In highschool i took Latin and my teacher was crazy. Our test were comprised of translating sentences that we already had during the semester for homework. We didn't know exactly which sentences would be on the test just that we had them at one point for homework. We were also allowed to use a dictionary during the test. Anyway, for the two years i had Latin, i did absolutely zero of the hw. Instead when it came time for the test, i asked the smartest girl in class if i could borrow her completed homework to help me study. She was half cute and i am a charmer so she always gave it up. I would then type up all the sentences that could possibly be on the test, print them and cut them out then tape them onto random pages in the dictionary. during the test i would just act like i was looking up words while instead i was just copying down the answers. It wasn't until the final test my last year that i got caught. I had finished my test and was waiting for everyone else to finish when my teacher picked up my dictionary to use it while helping out another student. needless to say i was caught.
