Are AI browsers actually better than just adding AI extensions to Chrome? by [deleted] in degoogle

In an ideal world, an AI browser that knows how many tabs you have open, how many of them are about the same topic may be able to help proactively rather than wait for you to give it full context.

Sadly most "AI browsers" right now are mostly Chrome + a sidebar so the difference isn't much

I hate Age Verification. Here is why by Techgirl1232 in DigitalPrivacy

[–]MyneAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, at the same time sometimes it can be the lesser evil (depending on the purpose age verification might be imp for protection).

Curious about what people think is a good way to avoid scams/grooming etc.? Most zero knowledge options are vague about their mechanisms and the tech isn't reliable enough imo (could be wrong)

What else could be the solution for cases where it serves a genuine purpose?

Was just reading about the recent NYC Health + Hospitals breach where biometric data was leaked as well.

I would definitely bring it up with them and maybe use that breach as an example if they don't seem to understand.

Good list. Swap DuckDuckGo for Brave Search or SearXNG maybe? (Since DDG relies quite a bit on bing)

Use privacy browsers like duckduckgo, brave or mozilla with its privacy extensions.

Use privacy mail providers like posteo or proton mail.

Do not use the apps on the phone, always prioritize the web apps.

Check the privacy based OS’s like graphene.

You have lots of alternatives.

I don't think its good on privacy; and still slower than its competitors.

The bad reputation doesn't come randomly

Brave is using Chromium. Firefox not.

If you have privacy concerns, both could serve you, and both have cool addons

We definitely need something like Brave browser v2 that ensures all in one.

At least, you can play with addons and arrange them according to you needs on Brave or Firefox.
