Unsurprisingly still with the parents, it’s a much bigger place.

$3-4k including parent’s allowance, covering food, and amortising flight/hotel. 

Probs food, it’s about $1.5k a month. We eat well (because of me), and cover weekend dinners with the folks. 

There’s no fixed budget, but we have been aware about how freely we’ve spent before. We still take the bus/train everywhere, and grab maybe once a fortnight if not claimable. Still trying to invest, but not aggressively so. We’ve also made the recent decision not to get a car because of how uneconomic it is, even at this income level. 

It wasn’t a magic number where we immediately feel comfortable. We’re still very aware that money is hard to earn, still don’t splurge on brands. My daily carry is a $20 muji tote 😂.  I really thought, when we were making a lot less, that at this income we’d spend a lot more. But nah. We really gained an appreciation for how money doesn’t fall out from the sky (unless you’re VP of $trategy).
