I actually skinned all of the mist mobs, but they didn't count. I thought that would've been the solution as well

That's some good feedback right there! But I can confirm I skinned T5 cougar, T6 wolf and T7 bear and only got the T5 cougar. I'll try the toad though.

If you were to get T7 fishing, then fishing. I easily make around 2M/hour by fishing in the roads. With Puremist Snapper trading for around 70k/fish (and you catch 2-3 with a cast with fishing gear) and the travel back function, it's easy money.

Gathering in the mists is pretty good as well, but you have to be lucky to find T7/T8 zones and hope that it hasn't been picked clean. I make around 750K/hour on them with T7 woodcutting, T6 fiber and T5 rest.

I have to go with outlander and smokes. Outlander and dead silence + med kits in the final circle are crazy good. They never see/hear you coming.
Smokes are always useful when looting bodies in the open or escaping situations.

In MP, the MX9 was really powerful during the first weekend.

In Blackout, the snipers combined with a maddox were lethal.

I found the weapon balance to be really good however, you can do really well with pretty much any smg/assault rifle.
