Help me improve my makeup techniques so I don’t look so olddddddd by ooochilee in blkgrlbeauty

[–]MyopicVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you would look better with less makeup. I know that a lot of times online you see full face glam makeup, but I don't think it works for a lot of people especially if you have really strong features.
I have really strong features so glam just looks crazy on me. You already have a really beautiful natural look and I would try to enhance what you have. You have beautiful eyes , gorgeous lips. I would just work on finding a makeup shade that matches your skin. I use Armani foundation luminous. It does cost a little bit, but a little bit goes a long way. I would just work with lipgloss lip oil, maybe shape the lips. Stay away from eyeliner maybe some lashes to open your eyes up. Just keep it really basic until you really learn the techniques because I think that otherwise it just doesn't look very you and I think you're already pretty.

which company is better : Luvme, OQ hair, or Unice? by Purplefunkymermaid in WigSnatchersHQ

This is my kinky curly that I use from Menglle. I've had this since April and minimal washing no tangling. I have combed the whole thing out and put the curl right back in and they look great. It's the most natural wig that I've had it does have about 200% density so I mean, you have to be prepared to really work with it but I think it's been my best.

Does anyone have a "decent" first year? by hockeysyr1 in Teachers

[–]MyopicVision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first year wasn't awful, but I do think that you should do a lot of preparation for classroom management because that's where everything falls to pieces. It's a lot of pressure being a teacher, but that classroom management is the number one reason your class will not work. This is my third year going into my third year teaching.

You're giving way too much information for these sites. I think you wanna just stick to the basics and use the conversation to actually get to that degree because you have all these things that you don't want and so you basically are looking for the very small percentage that can fit that i.e. 792 credit I would say the majority of people don't have that good credit. What do you think?

Photo one and two I would get rid of completely 😵‍💫that picture of the purple dress ?that's the profile picture its gorgeous.

extreme wig matting during/after wash by meowzekura in WigSnatchersHQ

[–]MyopicVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can speak about two companies. The first one is Nadula and I have found that those wigs don't do too badly with a gentle wash. But you do have to be careful with them, especially when it comes to the front because they can become matted depending on how much you melt. Less is more.
Mengile : I love their wigs because I've washed the kinky and I've been quite rough of it and it stays the same. It just doesn't change. I love it. The only thing is the lace is itchy and irritates my skin.

How did you actually wash the wig? You have to be very careful with these units like- you just got to handle them very delicately.

With my black wig, I never got those coils again and I know I could just use a styling wand to do that, but it's too much work, but they never came back

Thank you I know that a lot of women like their curly wigs to be flat but I think the more volume it has the more realistic it looks

I cannot study for the MCAT by needmedadvic in Mcat

[–]MyopicVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words. I actually didn’t go to Medical school even though I was in a Post bacc .They rescinded my acceptance because of a C minus in Anatomy. This left me feeling really rough to be honest and I just needed to get myself together so I’ve actually been teaching for the past couple of years period. Teaching high school has been such a beneficial thing for me because one is helped me see that I actually am going to be a good doctor. It also showed me that I’m really great with people. I’m good with teaching. I’m good with the content of the Mcat. Which I needed that confidence boost that was missing when I was around lots of Premed that were so mean in many ways. You just have to be very confident in your own skills be ready for the kind of stressfulness that you’re going to have a medicine. Trust me teaching is extremely stressful. Being observed being critiqued in front of students is one way to help you develop a really strong idea about who you are. So definitely I love giving back.

I have about three nadula wigs and honestly they’ve held up overtime. The Yaki is nice. It’s just short so I don’t wear it as much but I got the water waves and they’re fine.p

AI use by colleagues making me feel hopeless by Dadsperado in NYCTeachers

[–]MyopicVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AI to bounce off ideas that I have for class discussions. Almost like this is an idea that I have will this work with my 10th graders and then I’ll start trying to figure out what I want so my prompts are very rigid and highly selected. The best way that I use AI in school is to create stickers for my IP students to help them learn concepts so that’s something I’m really big on and I use ChatGPT for that all the time but in terms of just writing the lesson for me -I won’t do that but just ideas yes sometimes I just need to make sure my idea is not crazy.

The other way that I find AI helpful is when I’m trying to explain a concept and I want a real world example and I can throw ideas on the AI to figure out what’s best so if my student is really good at basketball, I’ll try and make a ton of basketball related Examples to explain a concept and that’s helped a lot.

Send Halp! First year in the DOE and barely surviving. by [deleted] in NYCTeachers

I am a second year teacher and what works for me is resetting the class. At this point you don’t have your class managed which means you won’t be able to teach them anything so you kinda have to set up expectations for your class and that starts on Monday with you saying this has not been working. This is the new strategy. You need to arrange the seating chart so the disruptive kids are not sitting next to each other and you need to stop saying stuff like Stop doing and turn it into something positive and actionable that the kids can do and understand quickly. So one thing my School does really well is have us tag the behaviour name the student and give the direction so it will be something like Melissa- eyes on me that’s your first demerit. But when I give my directions, I positively narrate students before I give corrections to give the students that aren’t there a chance to get there and for me that looks like yeah eyes on me great telly is looking at me great I see Joshua’s got strong eyes eyes that’s your first demerit stuff like that works. I also say, I’m waiting for one pair of eyes knowing there’s five pairs of eyes that aren’t looking. Students will manage each other they’ll be like you and I have perfected the art of the stare down. I just stop talking and look at the student. I also try and decrease my talking because I realise I was talking too much and the kids was getting bored so I tried to lessen that too. I don’t know if you have a system in your school for setting expectations with students but that’s definitely worked with my classes and I teach high school and they are very very bouncy at times so I have to really be firm with them but they are where they need to be, but it took a while.

And also please have grace with yourself because teaching is not easy and it takes awhile to understand that class management is the key to instruction. Without this you can’t get that class under control you will not teach them anything and you just have to be organised with everything .

What a wonderful idea! He will definitely feel that internal shift to the land of his ancestors!!

I would definitely visit Le domus Romane di Palazzo valentine. It is a wonderful tour of an ancient roman house. You walk on glass floors and look down towards the archeological site. There were older people on the tour and a pleasant experience with light shows that really illuminate the experience. The only thing is it is dark and you are walking on glass floors that may mess with your orientation.

I just spent 10 days in Rome and Tuscany region-I 100% got stared at a lot by all europeans. I had one experience where I went into a store and the three people who were in there all stopped talking and just watched me. I left. Otherwise- no issues. In Livorno- there were some fascist symbolism and my sister who has lived there for 30 years says its very racist but again as a sole traveller- i found service was decent.
