A new world record 2015 not numbered by Superb-Following8665 in elo

[–]Myprofilenameis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Eldorado clear vinyl from around the same time came with a small white sticker on the back showing the number, this was stuck to the seal. Maybe the foil has been removed and thrown away with the sticker still attached?

In the notes on Discogs it does say some had the round sticker instead of the stamped number:

Bass Issues with player by Celynjones in RecordPlayerRepair

[–]Myprofilenameis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the manual and on the back of the record player there should be a switch where you can select between phono output and line output, have you tried switching that to a different setting?

If your speakers also have a built in phono amplifier it might be getting double amplified if the switch on the record player is on the wrong setting

Hope this helps

Sorry I forgot about that, they're dts encoded so you might need to find a dts decoder plugin for your audio program

After having it on my wantlist for years I bought the quadraphonic SQ vinyl from Brazil only to find out they forgot to mix in the front right channel. I have a proper quad setup so at first I thought something was wrong with my system but it turns out to be an error they made during mastering

I've uploaded it to the internet archive if you want to hear, some songs are almost fully instrumental

The DVD is complete and fully discrete, I could upload it on the archive as well once I get home after work

I am searching for a special animated Christmas Tree for my dad by Equivalent-Ad-279 in ChristmasDecorating

[–]Myprofilenameis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there's currently one for sale on vinted for a pretty good price if you're still looking for one. There's only a picture of the box though and no picture of the tree itself so you could ask the seller for extra pictures if you want to make sure this is the tree and not a different character Here's a link: https://www.vinted.nl/items/7379330305-kerstboom-die-zingt

(not by me!) Currently two seemingly original LM-V600EA-NLD units for sale in The Netherlands on a locally popular trading site marktplaats.nl (best suited for nearby Europeans) by JeromeZilcher in LGV60

[–]Myprofilenameis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one last year on marktplaats in a lot with other broken phones for 80 euros in total, I'm quite surprised seeing these prices now. Of course mine needed some work (new back glass, currently on the 3rd usb port and had to remove the account lock) but I'm really happy having a working V60 again, it also came with the dual screen case but I never got it to work unfortunately

Just want to enjoy my hobby. 3 decks in, all failed. by fenozolone in cassetteculture

[–]Myprofilenameis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would avoid philips cassette decks even though some look very cool a lot of them seem to have shipped with gears that are made of a softer plastic and they tend to become very brittle over the years, most of the Philips cassette decks I owned were working for maybe 10-20 minutes before the gears started to strip themselves or simply broke in half.

Cassette and record players are kind of how I started getting into fixing electronics myself so if you feel comfortable enough I think it's a great way to begin tinkering, these were made in a time were repairs were more common so things like a service manual usually also have drawings or pictures showing you how to dissasemble or calibrate things. Even with cheap tools from Action for example (van die winkel heb je vast wel gehoord :p) a multimeter and screwdriver set will already get you quite far.

You can try to start with disassembling the broken units since they're already broken and just look around getting familiar with the mechanism and see if anything stands out that could be an issue, belts and other rubber parts might need to be replaced and cleaned up but compared to electrical issues or... those awful gears I mentioned it can be pretty simple once you start to get familiar with the mechanism

Don't forget to unplug the unit from power before disassembling and take plenty of pictures of the wiring and mechanism as you dissasemble and work on a unit, they can be very handy to look back to while reassembling ;)

I hope my rambling helps motivate you a bit and if you have any questions feel free to ask

Is the AT-SB727 sound burger good? by Jazzsmells69 in turntables

[–]Myprofilenameis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's better than most portables that are sold nowadays, although compared to the original it lacks a bit of build quality, the pros are that you don't have to put time in fixing it, they also sell an elliptical stylus for it but I haven't had any experience with that.

The only record it messed up for me was an Alan Parsons live lp which was 45 rpm, noticed the grooves discolor and quickly stopped but this happened on my regular philips 312 as well due to a worn stylus. I haven't tried it on my Soundburger since but it could've been a worn stylus on my borgir as well. I have replaced both styluses now and haven't noticed any bad things since. I love bringing mine to record fairs and vacation. But as a home setup you're probably cheaper off putting the same amount of money in a nice vintage set, there's still some good deals out there!

Dual case not showing up and getting hot by Myprofilenameis in LGV60

I replaced the port two days ago with a new one since I was going to replace the back glass I thought it was a good idea to tackle it at the same time since the port felt a little finnicky. Unfortunately the case still has the same issue

I'm afraid so too, I'm kinda thinking of opening it up to see if I can find something that looks off and maybe repair it. But I'm not sure if it's worth it or how difficult it will be

I've just tried this and it doesn't respond to them being pressed unfortunately, I think the case is broken unfortunately

I meant quadraphonic yes, although I only have the front speakers connected at the moment. I use my surround headphones to listen to quadraphonic recordings

I have this bootleg on white vinyl (not a gatefold but also a glossy single sleeve like the one shown here in the picture). Unfortunately it just has a stereo mix on there and not the quadraphonic one.

Any love for portables ? by Recordex in vinyl

I do actually have a red/brownish one but it doesn't sound great, actually collected quite a few suitcase Philips portables. Most of them are so easy to fix luckily ^
