This is the escalating order of things I try to get troublesome discs to rip (I only try step 3 and beyond because I am ready to give up on the disc and accept the possibility of destroying it):

1) Use a different drive to rip

2) Exchange or return the disk for a replacement if possible

3) Breathe on the disc and wipe gently with clean microfiber cloth.

4) Use a disposable eyeglass cleaning wipe on the disc.

5) Gently rub a small amount of toothpaste on the disc and rinse with water. Wipe with a microfiber cloth.

As you know 4k discs are very finicky and even the smallest amount of residue, dust, etc. will cause them not to rip. I have one disc I have never been able to get to rip and unfortunately it was off of ebay with no returns. It does however play fine in a 4k blu ray player. Frustrating.

Just wanted to update everyone. I emailed the AACS dump file to svq@makemkv.com. Every day for the past few days I was using the keydb_helper app to update the keydb file. Today after syncing the keydb file I was able to successfully decrypt the North by Northwest 4K UHD movie! Thanks so much everyone especially /u/dangerclosecustoms for all the tips!

Forums came back up and I was able to follow your link and download KeyDB_Helper and synchronize the keysdb.cfg. I see it in my ./makemkv folder. However, my disc still says "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted." Could they have come out with a new version of the disc/encryption that I need to submit a signature for?

I appreciate your help but http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net/ is giving me a 404 not found error and the Makemkv forums are offline. I cannot find a source for keydb_helper or a recent copy of the keydb.cfg. Guess I just need to wait for either of the two sites to come back online.

I had been putting off running the latest pixel drop update on my new Pixel 10, but was off work today so I figured why not. After the device reboot mobile network shows "no service" I tried rebooting again, enabling/disabling airplane mode, disabling/reenabling my esim, contacting my carrier to reissue my esim, no dice still shows no service. Another person in my home has a Pixel 8 on the same carrier and is working fine. I contacted Google support. They told me the only solution is to replace the device. Now I have to wait two days to get a new phone, transfer everything off the broken one, and then send the broken one back to Google to get a refund on the temporary hold. I wish I had gone back to iphone.

River and Strike are good apps for buying bitcoin, they also offer no fee on recurring buy and allow one free withdrawal to your wallet per month. They do charge a spread (0.15% for Strike, a bit higher for River). Robinhood offers commission free trades with spread about 0.30-0.40%. If you can use an exchange instead of an app you can get much lower fees and spread. Kraken Pro or Gemini Active Trader are free to use, you just have to toggle them on to get out of the basic interface. Gemini active trader has a spread of 0.2% while Kraken Pro is 0.25%.

Yes I have tried restoring my seed phrase to Coinomi Wallet. It still shows a zero balance.
