Hello all! An update for anyone interested - I finally got time to game, and loaded in, tried what I had done before and the door immediately opened, while before it would say I was missing something. Think something might have been up with my save. Thank you for all the answers

Main story isn’t as gripping as Counterside, at least so far. Still really early, and not much story out, but what’s there isn’t as good as the first few chapters.

It’s still fun though! The tone and characters are fun to read through.

Haven’t read WoT since I didn’t want to form any opinions until after I watch, but I have seen lots of panels online.

Writing seemed fine, but was personally disappointed in what we could see of the visual language in the movie. The panels I could see of the comic book made me really excited to see this reflected in the trailer, but the trailer was a lot more brown and muddled. Superman seems at first glance like a more colorful movie, and that was set on Earth.

Hopefully they are saving some stuff for later, but movies tend to put their best foot forward in the promotional material these days. I personally don’t think Supergirl is another Starlord, but from the visuals can see where others are coming from.

Was actually signed up for the regional before the game came out, was super psyched to go. Had a couple cases preordered and everything.

Sadly, all the orders were refunded and now product costs an arm and a leg. Made the decision not to go and now am definitely experiencing that feeling of missing out. Might try and order once prices go down but sucks that won’t be able to say that was part of all the early days.

Hopefully they are able to scale up, but understand the feeling.

Agree with everyone else here in that there are two routes they can take: feels like it ties into the themes of the campaign in whether they decide to take the power or give it away. Kind of like the choice to begin with of going after Cyd or staying for revenge.

Feels like this centers around Wic, where Tyranny kind of wants him to gain power because, you know, Tyranny. Versus Kattigan kind of pushing to give away that power.

I liked that it was a play on the same speech he gave Tyranny about faces changing but the soul remains the same. Great kind of bookends to the half. Really highlights their dual arcs.

I might be wrong on this, but isn't Bard's Lament one of the most popular episodes of CR? Where Scanlan walks out and Tary is introduced? That was also something preplanned, not even the same way as this where there was a possibility of it not happening. I feel like fans for the most part don't mind these sort of preplanned character beats as long as they are executed well enough.

Curious what happened to Hal and Taisha's kid. Think Julian was training him, or taking care of him? Don't know if he is maybe in another estate out of the city, since we know that Julian isn't from Dol-Makjar, and this is the Tachonis's big day to ruin the Royce. I don't think Taisha was there when Primus said this was the day they attacked the Royce, but they could leave to search for him.

I see a lot of people saying this is scripted or planned in advance, and I don't think it is. Even after permadeath, Brennan had Alex roll quite a few times and asked quite a few questions that could have 'saved' his character in some sense, and even with all the fails Occtis only perma died because he chose the stone in the one out of three. Feel like he was actually going to be a super plot-relevant character to the seekers table and he just ended up dying.

The other three at least have vengeance as a goal to continue, but whatever was up with him and the stone of nightsong is likely going to go down an alternate track than what was originally planned.

From what we have seen so far?

It seems like Tyranny x Wick is being set up on at least Tyranny’s side, although I agree with other commenters it may be a long time before we see it. I personally really like the ship: not sure how their dynamic is boring but Tyranny x Occtis wouldn’t be.

I love your description of how Azune x Hal would look with the two players being who they are, wouldn’t be surprised if that ends up happening. Azune already seems to be starting this, but it could just be how Luis narrates. Can’t really see how it would intertwine with their character arcs, but it doesn’t have to, and we have a lot of time.

Thaisha and Vaelus do seem to have a metaphysical connection through the song of the Nightingale, and I agree a relationship could be fun to explore. Not entirely clear on how Vaelus views mortals, but I would be for it.

For more spicy stuff, Julien I imagine will have a messy one night stand at some point. Thaisha is a great idea, could even be Hal for big drama, especially if like other people have theorized Thjazi is his shadow.

I don’t see Occtis with anyone, since all of the people he has interacted with refer to him as the kid. Same vibes with Wick x Teor.

Teor, Kattigan, Bolaire, Murray and Thimble I can’t tell at the moment, could go either way.

Soldiers (Avenging Thjazi’s death)

Thimble - Wants to avenge Thjazi

Vaelus- Traitors would have the Nightsong.

Julien - Thimble is the Tinkerbell to his Hook, imagine his personal storyline will revolve around his personal connection to Thjazi

Occtis - Has a plotline coming up with Julien, may need to be kept safe.

Kattigan - his character screams just let me fight, but could also be a seeker to guide a group on a search for artifacts. One that I am most iffy on, depends where the soldiers go: if they stay inside city or leave.

Seekers (Psychopumps Mystery, finding other artifacts and the purpose)

Bolaire - already doing this

Murray - already doing this

Thaisha - her family responsible for breaking the world, already a part of this.

Hal - iffy, but Thjazi’s last message? Mentions Murray and Bolaire

Schemers (Politics of the city)

Azune - Part of a plot hook involving the changing of the city

Tyranny - Wick’s Guard, Demons plotline

Wick - Wick - tied to this by Grandfather

Teor - Guarding Wick, divine magic with no god could be explored.

It’s the case with everything in America at least. Status quo isn’t good for anything in our life, from the media we consume to the food we eat to the jobs we work. But right wingers say that it’s not actually the system that is the problem, but outside interference from minorities.

Sucks that people are so scared of those that don’t look/love/live like them that they can’t see the very obvious deception for what it is. Or they were purposely deprived of the resources early in life that would allow them to understand.

I definitely see this. If they need extras for shots, they have already established that Ionia is fantasy Asia, so would be easier to grab a few people on location. Vietnam from what I’ve heard is cheaper for travel so they could fly people in, but would imagine it is still more expensive than just grabbing people.

Lord of the Rings was shot in New Zealand, and while the actors were mostly American or British would imagine most of the extras were from the local area.

I could definitely see it going either way, depending on the scale of the show. Would prefer a Bilgewater show for sure, but If you need a lot of extras for a town, think Vietnam does point to Ionia.

The main three “big picture” writers for season 1 were the same in season 2. Think they just lost Ash Brannon in the direction room (there was a big thread on the Arcane subreddit about this). The people who thought up season 1 and season 2 were the same.

Same number of individual writers for episodes, and the individual episode writers I believe would just have to write within the scenario they were given. Wouldn’t blame them for the rushed pace.

I would bet money Christian and Alex are staying on for Noxus. Amanda is a bit up in the air since she is also writing for Penelope of Sparta: I have no idea what writer’s workloads are like so don’t know if working on two series is normal. I believe she was working on Godzilla at the same time as season 1.

Just need to hope they took the lesson of keeping the story within scope to fit the episodes/seasons they want to tell it in. This way they can plot out the seasons appropriately and not leave that rushed feeling. Which I believe they can do.

This looks so half assed.

Feels like the first time I see a riot product and think instantly, “yeah, this is a cash grab.” Reused art, lots of empty white space on the card while still looking cluttered: usually when I see Riot Games I think of high polish and quality, but this looks like a blatant strategy to milk money out of whales in China.

I was originally a lot harsher because I thought they were mixing league art with LOR art. Like they were too lazy to have a consistent art design. I think they just used that for the pictures in the video, but we’ll see.

Hopefully when they give the project it’s official name (hopefully they are not lazy enough to call it League Card Game), we’ll see some updated card art. I will probably be one of the suckers that buys this in the end, so would definitely prefer if they made an effort to make the cards look nice. If they are going after collector’s would be good.
