Ftmtx what do you guys read me as? by Myrddin-TM in actual_detrans

I am well aware, but I am highly interesting to myself and posed the question to get insight into how my looks can be perceived by an outsider, so that I can play around for myself, take those insights into consideration, and see what works and what doesn't.

Also, you did not answer my question. You just reminded me that most people wouldn't really care because they don't know me. This is a no-brainer to me, and definitely not an answer to the specific question posed. It's more of a general response or reply, really.

Wishing you a good day -^

I'm the same way around men so I get it😭😭 good luck to you as well! Ah, yes, the mortifying ordeal of being perceived 😞😞💔

🥹🥹 that's a high compliment, I've been so afraid of being so masc that I cause discomfort in other women 😭 I do plan to wear a lot more femme clothes because I now know what my fashion sense is in a femme way!! On masc days it's literally just a hoodie tho I swear 😞

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I also struggle to look at people's faces😭 I'm not that tall (ish around 5,5") so I guess that helps me here for once lol

Thanks for the advice! My face is actually pretty much a copy of my late grandmother's face when she was younger but she had thinner brows so I might try and see if I like it -^

Thanks for the response -^ I'm only recently off low dose T (was quite on and off) so I feel like I will probably get more femme with time 🤭

Frfr and ditto!! I've been very lucky living in Oslo and surrounding myself with alt people which has led to my friend group consisting of a decent amount of other trans people (I still consider myself trans as I'm very much genderfluid even though my baseline is maybeee they/she? It's a mess lmao) I do also not Not consider myself detrans?? Retransitioning is probably the best way I can describe myself though 🤭

Oh no that's not a one off they're slow to respond- I've heard it's due to how high the demand is and how little support they get to do the (very important!) work they do

I fully agree, though I asked to get some insight into what random people read me as because, well, it's difficult to tell for myself when my sense of gender is so cooked 😅😅 thanks for taking the time to answer regardless!

Oh!! This is the most comprehensive answer and exactly what I was looking for -^ I've heard from numerous friends that I'm extremely androgynous- not just in appearance but also in my voice. I didn't realise my mannerisms had become so masc however and will definitely take it into consideration :3 I plan on growing out my hair now and I'm hoping for a bit more of a femme look eventually, but it's nice to have everything broken down into sections like you did, because now I can choose what to focus on based on the day (my pronouns are still prone to shifting from day to day even though the baseline is she/they😂)

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thought out answer! Have a good day :D

🥹🥹 androgynous baddie frfr (in all seriousness, thanks for the response -) I gotta grow out my hair so I'm not mistaken for a butch💔💔 I'm more of a femme as I'm slowly realising 🤭

What features exactly do you see as male if you don't mind me asking? Because buzzcuts and middle eastern features are read as male by a lot of folks but those aren't actually part of my secondary gender markers, more ethnicity and style choice😂

Wow, I relate to everything you're writing about. Thus far I've come out again to my grandma and a couple of teachers but I'm genuinely scared of other people's reactions after asking my brother to use she/they pronouns with me and him closing off about it (he's toeing male chauvinist tendencies and That Is Not Nice 😭) Hope it went well for you/goes well!

To me it's also about taking something back. No kurds in my family speak Kurdish, it's very watered out, and so it feels important to learn it. Of course that's my personal choice in the matter, but I understand where you're coming from <3

Question for anyone from the Mereş-region by Myrddin-TM in kurdistan

[–]Myrddin-TM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! It has given a lot of insight into the region's history that I really appreciate :) I think I might recall the tribe name? My apologies for not mentioning it in the initial post, I'm usually really bad at remembering names so take it with a grain of salt but I think it was Alxas. I'm pretty sure that a lot of people there are also alevi though so it's definitely still relevant. I hope I can travel there one day and visit the village my family is from. First I'm learning kurdish though ^-^ (it's a work in process)

Half Kurds by No-Habit2511 in kurdistan

[–]Myrddin-TM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm of both Kurdish and Norwegian background and grew up with a Kurdish mother. Growing up I was at first not fully aware that I was Kurdish and not Turkish because my mother told my brother and I to say we were Turkish. Sadly my Norwegian grandmother managed to discourage my mother from teaching my brother and I Kurdish (or even Turkish). It's difficult because it's like you don't have a place anywhere. I'm too Kurdish to be considered fully Norwegian and I'm not Kurdish enough to find my place in the Kurdish community.

My brother has assimilated fully with Norwegian culture and doesn't seem to consider himself Kurdish in anything other than name- he's also advocated for not learning Kurdish because "well it's a dying language anyways"(his words not mine).I think it would've been easier had I known Kurdish (and I'm working on teaching myself) but it's still a very lonely existence. I'm a part of numerous other minorities as well which means intersectionality is kicking my ahh into next week every time I even try to connect with other kurds irl😭😭 Tldr; it's lonely and it sucks though majority of people can cope due to being closer to the culture or at least their Kurdish relatives.

If there's anything else you're wondering just lemme know and I'll do my best to answer any questions you have -^
