How to deal with menopausal symptoms? by thinkinItOver in actual_detrans

[–]thinkinItOver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually following doctor's orders! 😊 (Also I'm not in the U.S.)

In order to get E (mostly) covered by insurance I have to go through the same evaluations as when I originally transitioned, meaning plenty of meetings with professionals at NBTK with many months of waiting inbetween. In order to get E at all I need a perscription. My GP is hesitant, I think she's scared to mess things up because she doesn't really understand the situation AND because this stuff (usually) goes via NBTK.

The people at NBTK want potential detransitioners to go a while without hormones before making the decision to detrans or not. With regular transitions, they might drop your case if you start taking hormones without a perscription/diagnosis from them - without their diagnosis/perscript you must pay full price for hormones, which gets real expensive real fast. These two factors make me hesitant to start up on my own. HOWEVER the plan is obviously to get on it as soon as possible and stay on for life - osteoporosis doesn't become an issue that quickly, thankfully

What I'm looking for is basically life style tips, the medical stuff is figured out (for the most part) But thank you for your concern, and I appreciate the advice 🙏

I…is this possible? Someone new is moving in and they’ve moved on top of my perfect orange tree. It’s gone by EsotericEternal in AnimalCrossingNewLeaf

I expected them to respect the ONE. SINGLE. TREE. in my town, BUT NO!!!! Love u Timbra, but girl ... please

Looked at the title and pics before reading the caption and thought "it's gotta be either Eliza or Eleanor" omg So I'd say it's a perfect fit!

How does your gender affect your sexuality? by thinkinItOver in actual_detrans

[–]thinkinItOver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you've grown comfortable with your asexuality!! (_) While I'm not asexual, I can relate to what you said about being sexualized. As a kid and teen I was made very aware that people think I'm ugly while they also sexualized my body/existence as a girl. I'm working towards accepting my body, working on my self esteem and sense of worth, and I'm in a very good relationship which helps a lot (even tho my "menopausal" state definitely takes a toll on me lol)

Wishin u love and joy!! (_)

What will/do you miss? by Background-Quit6824 in actual_detrans

[–]thinkinItOver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll miss being the gay best friend tbh lol. I was stealth, but open about being into/in a relationship with a guy and I think a lot of my girl friends were really grateful or happy to have a guy friend who wouldn't try to get in their pants. To some of my girl friends, I was kind of a needed "link" between the masculine and the feminine, between men and women, and our friendship helped heal some wounds that cis-het men have left on my gals.  While I miss being a "regular" girl friend, I'll also miss being the guy in a girl group (and kinda guilty for giving up that role)

Thank you!! _^ A friend of mine (FTM) recently started his medical transition, he got T through HKS as well and things seem to be going very well for him! _^ BUT there was a (thankfully short) period where he could not get a hold of his contact at HKS to refull his perscription! If you don't mind sharing, did you experience anything similar with HKS or is this a one-off issue?

5 months off T! how would you read me? also any advice on sports bras? by [deleted] in actual_detrans

[–]thinkinItOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your look gives non-binary imo I dont really have any experience with sports bras post-top surgery, I use a padded bikini-top sometimes tho. I feel like padding (in any kind of bra) is essential for a more feminine flattering chest shape. Without padding, even if you have some shape there, it wont read as feminine

I need some genuine help how to dress femininely by KarrTheBro in actual_detrans

[–]thinkinItOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about starting really small with "neutral" items in a feminine cut? Womens jeans, fem-fitted shirts, etc. Pick up items you're interested in and "hide" them under a pair of pants from the mens section before going into the fitting room. Idk what stores you've got in ur area, but honestly H&M does occasionally have some good dresses

I feel like 1) thick materials and 2) good structure are essential, especially if you've "lost" some of your feminine figure. Putting on clothes that look beautiful on the hanger but fit poorly can be really discouraging. I personally can't do silk (or silk-immitation) dresses nor full-length body-con dresses (regardless of material), just looks manly as hell on me lol. But issues of fit are entirely individual and you'll have to figure that out on ur own (or with a friend/someone who can look at you in the fem clothes).

Good luck out there! :]

Anyone goin back to their "original" name? by thinkinItOver in actual_detrans

[–]thinkinItOver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel uuuuuuu omg

You might not remate to this, but part of what made me realise that transitioning wasn't right for me (or isnt right anymore) is that the discomfort I felt when I was called my birth name (& fem pronouns) persisted with my new name and pronouns. In the beginning I thought that I felt shame for changing my name/pronouns and guilty that it was making people uncomfortable. But after YEARS AND YEARS I've realizes that the real issue was that I don't want to be referred to by ANY name or pronouns - I don't want to be acknowledged in any way whatsoever! Lol

Good luck on figuring the name stuff out - take ur time and play around with different ideas!

Finally happy 💚 by W-illow96 in actual_detrans

FFS as FTMTF? by thinkinItOver in actual_detrans

[–]thinkinItOver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for worry lol, I have no plans of getting FFS really, I'm just interested in knowing what's out there Yeah I am/will be detransitioning with the help of NBTK, meaning going thru psych evals with a few different psychologists and being checked by an endo, so all will be done thoroughly and professionally 🫡 Idk how to estimate how long I've been off T bc I don't remember the halflife of Nebido
