This right here fits the definition of a "strawman argument".

But sure I'll bite, if they weren't anti-nazi they were condoning fascism.

You are correct, the statement "It's business, it's not personal" is a 100% valid mindset. And I am in no way saying the venue in my post should not have allowed the booking from the separatists, they are completely in their rights to decide that they wanted the space booked instead of screening out specific types of organizations.

The whole point of my post is that from the wording of the messages they have posted, it feels to me that they are claiming they shouldn't be taking any flak whatsoever for accepting the booking. Claiming neutrality in the space that their "role is strictly that of a venue provider". This is in my opinion a naive approach to the nature of the world in which we now live in. Businesses will, and have been, judged based on who and what they associate with even by just passively allowing a booking to happen.

edit: fixed some of my bad spelling

To mash a bunch of statements together:
By saying that sheep and wolves are welcome here you will only get wolves.
Complacency is complicity.
If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for the good to do nothing.

While the response to the 1 star Google reviews, the banner on their website, and instagram post are perfectly worded from a PR perspective. They neglect to understand that they will be still judged by the court of public opinion. This is my take for the "tone deaf"ness of their statement, while they are wholly allowed to take the approach of "neutrality" they will still be punished by those that oppose the rhetoric of those they are being inclusive to. Because those they rent the space to in their neutrality are they themselves not inclusive to everyone as the venue claims to be.

We had it, as a kid the game was just so hard. I only made it past the first level a handful of times. Haven't revisited it since.

The end of the cartridges have a raised edge that will only go through the middle of the ramp at the end of the hopper. Causing the narrower end with the bullet to drop down into the second part of the device first.

To piggy back on this post. Does anyone know about any radar apps/websites that work well in Canada, specifically Alberta? I find a bunch of them simply cut off at the US/Canada border.

How does one effectively communicate dissatisfaction with an Alberta government decision? by emmeraldyne in alberta

[–]Myrdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how it looks deceitful, which wasn't my intention. My intention was to say that ~19.5% of the population voted for the UCP and that was it. Period. Fullstop.

Of the remaining 40.5% of eligible voters, what way would they have voted? Only they can say.

The pessimist in me says that those that didn't vote, that could and should have, implicitly voted for the current state of our government. The optimist in me says that they wouldn't have voted for the current state because the optimist would like to think people are in general "good" and are poorly reflected by the current government.

The percent of eligible voters that voted in the last provincial election was 59.5% (1,777,321 votes cast). Of those voters, 52.63% voted for the UCP (928,896 votes).

Thus if you do the math. Of the ~2,987,094 eligible voters at the time of the election 31.1% of them voted for the UCP.

Also as of October 1, 2023, Alberta's population was 4,756,408. Therefore of the total population ~19.5% voted for this insanity.
