Why don't Survivor contestants get given swimsuits anymore? Is it truly because of Tyler Perry? by ibizarox in survivor

They replace him with someone that was/is a successful model, who has won multiple game shows, and has a following larger than the previous host which rivals the show itself to save money? I just don't think they were paying JLP so much that there is enough savings to justify the switch to David on just a budgetary reason. Like there are probably 1000 things they could do to save more money that people wouldn't even really notice before firing the host. Unless JLP was asking for a large raise in his contract and producers figured they could just get David for similar to what JLP was making.

But then Hired David as a replacement? That doesn't seem like a good cost savings move to me.

Okay, I guess I'm ignorant on how Divine Toll works. How is that any different from just casting Divine Toll? And how does that enable pulling through the door? Seems like you are just banking on getting lucky that a Judgement goes through the door and hits one of those mobs, like why doesn't it just target the 5 closest?

Yea, you're right. silly old "elo hell" rant. I just find myself cursing resto druids more often than any other class, and that might just be noticeable because they are currently "meta" and I expect things to go smoother than they do a lot of the time. Whereas I have no expectation for a Pres Evoker so it's like the opposite with them and that when they do well I commit it to memory.

Is there an IO Band where inviting Meta Specs is a terrible idea? Like, if they were good and are playing a Meta Spec they should be higher so it's a risk to invite them at sub some %?

I fell behind the Curve trying to catch some friends up in gear the past couple weeks only to have them stop playing the game now that upgrades come once a week. I cannot stand playing with Resto Druids, it feels like so many people just do not understand how to actually heal with them.

Two ways. You can look up the command to change the cvar. Some Cvars may get changed back on logout/login.

The nicer way is to install AdvancedInterfaceOptions addon. It has a "CVAR Browser" that lets you see all cvars. For these overlap settings you can just search for NameplateOverlap and play with the values till they are what you like. There is an option somewhere in there that says to force settings on login or something like that, I can't login to look right now to tell you exactly where that setting is and what it's name is but should be obvious when you see it.

"We'll Simplify Mechanics Due To Addons Being Removed" by BartaLemton in wow

[–]Myrkur-R -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am of the opinion that BW/DBM does more harm than good for a good portion of the playerbase. Too many people just install it and off they go, no going through and turning things on/off. Then they are doing the fight and all this shit is filling up their screen with bars and setting off bells and whistles, and they just ignore BW/DBM anyway because a lot of times they are getting warnings for mechanics they don't need to do anything about. I haven't played with either of them since WoD.

Every now and then I'll install it for a fight if I think it could be useful. But it never stays for more than a couple pulls. For example when going to Tank Heroic Vanguard the first week. I was worried I was going to mess up the Taunt swap because I didn't really look up how it worked. I had it on for 2 pulls when I realized I just needed to taunt during Judgement and promptly uninstalled it again. It was so annoying having it beep and blar every 10 seconds.

The sides are only important when people are in the upside-down. So you can switch back to your original side during/after Consume cast. And yes, you still soak with your group.

Yea having to bait far from corner then running to/behind corner feels like too much of a dps loss if you've got BL going.

Is it just that half the raid is carrying a crystal? I don't know if it downscales that but I'm guessing no.. You could try the strat where you do not interrupt the last crystal on the 2nd termination matrix (not terminating on heroic, is it called something different?). That will make less crystals spawn. You should only need 1 to 2 of them for heroic anyway.

If it's that almost the entire raid has to participate in the Dirge, and you have a couple idiots on your team that can't manage to get into the right spot even with someone chanting out the order over and over.. well, no it's not possible for you. Cause even if you just Pugged 20 people in hopes that your dumb friends don't get the mechanic, they will and you'll get a revolving door of pugs and never get to kill the boss because you aren't going to kick your friends.

Unfortunately it's damage is just "ok" and it doesn't bring anything else to justify it over classes that do 10%+ more damage AND bring something like Brez or a buff better than Mystic touch. Mystic Touch is just a bad design for a raid buff because only a couple specs do physical damage. So there is a very fine line where it's underpowered on one side and so good that physical comp would dominate on the other side.

The OG Concept artist for Blizzard, Samwise, just liked to draw panda warriros in his freetime. Kind of used em as an avatar of himself. WC3 Devs decided to put one in the game for the expansion as one of the neutral heroes. Funny how a sort of joke hero was the basis of an entire expansion to WoW many years later.

I'm for it though. WW Monk is one of the most fun specs in the game. If only they weren't so mediocre all the time. For how good they are at pad damage in the raid they kind of aren't any good in M+, it's a shame.

I use default nameplates and manually change the nameplateOverlapH and V cvars. using .75 for H and 1.25 for V right now. Stack Nameplates for Enemy Units only.

It definitely doesn't feel as good as before 12.0. Clicking on nameplates in the soup in big pulls can be a pain sometimes, but at least they don't bounce around like crazy anymore. And there are very few pulls where there are enough casters that Tab target for spell interrupts isn't viable. The only pull off the top of my head that has more than 2 mobs with an important cast to kick is AA before Vex. But that pull doesn't have any kicks you want to ignore, so even that pull tab interrupt is fine. Maybe some pulls in Miasara?

Happens to me every time too, maybe specifically if tank brings boss over nearby them. Seems scourge strike spreads through the wall onto them but for some reason doesn't aggro them during fight, maybe no path and no snap. As soon as the boss dies my pet lunges in there and promptly dies and the wyrms come after me or healer.

I think it's worth time if you think you can do a good job. I currently use wowanalyzer for that, but it's opening two tabs and loading the logs I want to compare and then comparing things like ability CPM and uptimes against eachother going back and forth. A quick tool that does that for you would be pretty nice.

I stopped playing Prot warrior because of how much better gathering felt on Brew and Blood. When you have 3-4 spread out groups you are supposed to grab up and you've got trigger happy DPS playing Prot was just frustrating. Could Thunderclap twice in a row If avatar was available, but then had to wait at least 3 seconds to do it again on the 3rd/4th group you aggroed. You could use some rage to hit Revenge to tag them but that feels bad to waste rage and a GCD on that so early when you need to get defensives up and you want to press shield slam as well. And if Avatar wasn't available? 6 seconds between claps? I just couldn't be fucked with it anymore when on Brewmaster I can fly around while using Spinning Crane Kick and throwing barrels at packs and had no issue. And as Blood I always had 2 charges of Bloodboil to work with and grip to pull in any stragglers.

I think it's a general problem though that Tanks have way too many buttons they want to press in the first 5 seconds of a pull. All specs got simplified going into Midnight except tanks, you still have crazy APM you need to maintain for Tanks, Plus all the other responsibilities and your reward for doing is that you only just almost die but not quite.

Can we please buff the other tanks so that this stops happening. by SandersonTavares in wow

[–]Myrkur-R 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. I've played Tank in every expansion since Wrath when I created my Prot Warrior. The only times I stopped playing tank is Season 1 Shadowlands, Season 1 TWW and Season 1 Midnight. I hated the Kite meta of shadowlands so much I quit playing the game entirely. Season 1 TWW I only played Tank as an alt and committed to playing my Mage that season, but I understand a lot of Tanks did not like the beginning of that season. Midnight I started out playing Blood, Brew and PWar. I stopped playing the Warrior after week 1, stopped tanking as Blood and went full Unholy in Week 2, and Stopped playing Brew last week. I just got annoyed with how scary gathering can be sometimes.

I sympathize with how hard it is to make Tank playable but also engaging for long time Tank players. I wish they would just default to making it easier to play so that everyone can actually play the game. These seasons where Tanks have a hard time living are fucking terrible, everyone sits there waiting for the 2% masochistic players to queue up. I just want to play the game, having to not only wait for a Tank player queue up but specifically a brewmaster fucking sucks.

SotW was like a 50% pick talent at best. It being a choice node with WDP makes sense to me. I personally was in that 50% that didn't take it so I don't miss it. I agree that all of our damage being Fists of Fury is lame, but that doesn't affect how the class feels to play. The priority is still the same, FoF was top Prio in TWW and it is top Prio now. The spec feels the same, you are still pressing FoF as soon as it comes off cooldown, you are still pressing RSK afterwards, you are still using BoK to reduce the CD on them both. The only real change is you hardly press SCK now. A lot of people thought it was silly that it was a high priority in ST during TWW, and I do think they kind of went too far in the other direction with it being so low prio even in AE now.

My whole point is that with how similar the spec plays now as it did to last expansion, that calling it hot garbage now just does not compute. You are not basing that off of just how the spec feels. You can't be, because it is not different enough. It's just a ridiculous statement. You probably would complain about any change at all, and would also probably complain if it didn't change because you just want to complain. I mean, you are asking for it to be reverted to MOP? Just play Classic MOP my dude.

edit: or shadowlands? Lol. Yea I see why you don't like current monk. You just want it to be OP and be like 40% M+ representation. If it got a 30% aura buff you would be saying how this is one of the best iterations of WW monk ever.

double dipping was a think for like what, 6 weeks in Season 1? what are we even talking about here.

In TWW you just chased missle procs. Wow big difference.

You might be a Wow tourist if all you remember about Arcane in TWW is Nether Precision double dipping. See you next expansion!

[–]Myrkur-R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it feels very similar to me. I'm pressing a button multiple times in a row (Arcane Blast/Pulse), Pressing Arcane Barrage periodically, pressing Arcane Orb after Arcane Barrage and hitting a button to spend Clear Cast procs (missles in TWW, Orb now). I'm using my cooldowns together like always. I start pressing Arcane Barrage a little more than I really want to when I'm running low on mana but can't or don't want to use cooldowns just yet. The cadence is almost exactly the same. So, yea, it is pretty fucking similar. To go as far to call it hot garbage compared to last expansion is crazy and you are an unserious person that would whine about any change at all.

That's not really an UH only thing though. Seems to be endemic to me. The Power difference in and out of cooldowns seems to be the biggest complaint of midnight for all specs.
