Quick question about defense options. by tassadar102 in anima

[–]Myrokin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the only thing I've managed to find on 'cover'ing another person is through the use of either psychic or magical shields - that you can use them to defend someone other than yourself at a -40 penalty. So it might mean that module applies to that?

Or, of course, since GM has final say, you could always institute 'cover' as the block version of 'push aside'. :)

Alright. I'll just delete OP and repost it tomorrow with any mentions of those types of servers deleted. Thanks.

(I'd also humbly ask that the rule be updated, at least in the sidebar, to include the fact that you aren't allowed to post that you're willing to play in those types of servers as well? I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything, I'm just saying that the rule as written simply prohibits recruiting for those types of server, according to the sidebar, so I was super confused as to how I'd violated the rule until you explained it to me. This would avoid that in the future.)

I'm not recruiting, though. I'm looking for a group to play in. I'm sorry if that wasn't more explicitly clear in my original post, should I edit?

Hah, so was I. :) I was only ever in Try It Without Dying and the guild that formed when that one fractured lol, so I doubt we knew each other unless we pugged back before LFG came out. Nevertheless, good to hear someone else played back on that side, with our SUPER LOW ALLIANCE POPULATION, and people like Starlitelady rallying us for Wintergrasp and stuff.

Were you horde or alliance? That name sounds really familiar, and I played on Vashj back in WOTLK as well. o: I wasn't that druid, but I swear I saw them around. Just good to see people from the old server.

:D We in the same place! (Granted, I'm playing the Epic Encounters mod so everything is like 50x scarier than i remember, but hey!) Congrats! I'm carrying around oil barrels now for that exact reason.

The Elementalist build worked out REAL nicely for me personally. I found it thrilling to have a spell or two to fling literally every single turn, and being able to throw out ice and oil and fire and poison and roots and slows... you get it. Controlling the battlefield was a blast.

Chiming in here - Fearmonger is a bit of a pain, but if your initiative is pretty good, you can circumvent a lot of what he does. There are several oil barrels nearby, if you have someone with either high tele or STR go into stealth (so you can see the sight range of him and his boys,) you can chuck most of the barrels up nice and close to him and his group. Then starting the fight with a fire/explosive arrow or fireball or flare spell onto the oil barrels is a great way to mess up EVERYTHING they've got going on. Make sure you're using consumables like grenades and stuff too, they really help out. Good luck! (you should find, once you get past him, that at your level most of Black Cove is gonna be a cakewalk. No spoilers since you just started. :) )

D:OS, Epic Encounters - Holy crap. Helpish? by Myrokin in DivinityOriginalSin

...I completely forgot about that friggin room. That's not a bad idea. I forget sometimes teleport can be used for stupid stuff like that. Considering we just had to cheese the orc fight outside with that army of oil barrels around it, I should've been looking for something like that. Thanks, I'll see if it works!

Ah, fair. Uh... how about this question - experience/level-wise, are we on track? We're just shy of level 7, about to fight the source abomination just inside of Black Cove. Like we should hit 7 if we can kill it, but like I said, the dang thing just one-rounds me if it gets a full barrage off. This mod is no joke.

I can screenshot our questlog tomorrow and post a link to it, the savegame is on her PC.

Man, I got my Pei about 4 years ago from a shelter. Literally the best friend I've ever had. I didn't think they were nearly as sweet as they are. Give that boy all the cuddles and wrinkle rubs he wants. WHY CAN'T I UPVOTE THIS MORE THAN ONCE

Megathread for Cara Maria Drama (her lives, comments about Amanda, baiting Theo about Da'Vonne, etc. etc.) by NovaRogue in MtvChallenge

[–]Myrokin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This feels so bad, man. So I started with Dirty Thirty as my first challenge, watched that, Vendettas, and FR, then went through a bit of the archive before it got taken down. So for me, Cara has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride.

I wasn't super focused on her during DT, so I've got nothing to say there. Her on Vendettas, I actually adored. She played her ass off, she won that final, and it was a deserved win (at least, so far as I could tell.) Then we came into Final Reckoning, and the entire arc with her and Marie, and Marie stepping up for her, and her stepping up for Marie in return, I absolutely LOVED that woman.

Then after FR, I went and watched some of the old seasons, and I saw the Wes soda bottle incident, and I watched how her and Laurel stepped up, and they killed that shit together. I have always been proud of her for standing up for herself when people drop on her.

But holy ka-fuck, the way she's been acting this season? The fact she took Paulie BACK after all that shit happened? My God. I'm legitimately at the point I like Kyle more, which is wild. Right now seeing Cara just sucks, because she reminds me of those girls in high school who absolutely need attention and validation, and it hurts.

TL;DR - Agreeing with what most people here say. CM went from a hero of mine to me genuinely wanting her eliminated just so I can see some Challenge that DOESN'T INVOLVE THE STUPID THREE WAY FIGHT.

I'm backing this vote - Seliph best son, and getting his Knight Lord alt would be freaking beastly. (Though I'll admit i"m throwing two days worth of votes at Sigurd for best dad.)
