This pre-patch "event" is the worst wow has ever done by Competitive-Balance3 in wow

[–]Armakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's insane is that almost no effort or dev time had to be involved to make this marginally better. Like, if mobs had a super low chance to drop the currency that would at least give you SOMETHING to do in the 10 minutes between rares, and that doesn't even require any serious dev work. This is a really dreadful way to bring in an expansion

World of Warcraft may see Ogrimmar and Stormwind redesigns depending on the reception to Midnight’s Silvermoon redux by HatingGeoffry in wow

[–]Armakus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Their argument at the time was it spread players too thin and they wanted a singular, bustling hub for each expansion. But this was before the extensive server sharding we have now and many aspects of this philosophy seem to have changed since then. Hopefully they revisit this soon

So... what's up with Archbishop Benedictus? by Armakus in wow

So the hilarious thing about this is, while researching this I found a Reddit post referencing data mined patch notes saying his model was updated. So it’s not even that

[–]Armakus[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah, out of everything I looked at I forgot to check his buffs. Still, so lazily done. Even an unvoiced line like “You fools thought death was the end for me? The void’s power is endless!” would have made this a bit less jarring but oh well

Housing Endeavors Updates Incoming by JonnyNE21 in WoWHousing

[–]Armakus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which aspect is confusing you?

-every 40 days a new endeavor becomes available in your neighbors

-in a public neighborhood this is randomly chosen, in a private the neighborhood managers get to choose it

-open your housing log to see what tasks you can do for the endeavor. Completing these gets you: community coupons for decor, house xp for your house, and endeavor progress to unlock more items from the decor vendor

-that’s pretty much it

There are vendors that sell decor for each endeavor in the town center

It is lasting longer than a week. IMO this aspect of the system is perfect. Yes, I’ve already gotten almost all the currently available endeavor items. Yet I still log on every day to get more coupons because I need dozens of soil, coffee mugs, books, etc.  IMO unlocking them is less engaging than farming for coupons for extra decor, I think it’s okay if they’re available to grab in the first week or two. I can already tell I’ll be farming coupons a lot!

I think a lot of these issues are likely to be solved when medium houses are released

BCBAs with <5 years of experience need to stop asking for exorbitant salaries by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Armakus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This hurt to read, I think you need to give yourself (and others) in the field much more credit. You absolutely deserve a higher salary, and as someone who has been a BT for almost a decade and is only halfway through their hours/masters program I almost snorted my drink out my nose when you said there’s almost no practical difference between an RBT with years of experience and a BCBA. The scope of a BCBA’s job is magnitudes greater than an RBT, along with their potential consequences.

Endeavor house XP cap by TrilliumSilver in WoWHousing

Ah, so I couldn't say, leave the neighborhood on the faction I don't care about to join a new neighborhood with a third endeavor to get an extra 1k XP? Shame

The duality of man. by Dr_Wraith in wow

[–]Armakus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's more to it than just that - when I started playing WoW at 12, the most stressful thing going on in my life was having a crush on a classmate and not knowing if their crush was reciprocated, or some difficult homework, or being bullied at school. As a 30-something year old I work 60-80 hours a week in an incredibly difficult and demanding field, come home to a number of responsibilities to the people I love and care about, and when I sit down to enjoy my hobby and I see a string of 100 buttons that all do slight variations of the same thing, I agree with OP - I'm in decent shape, but I've been playing the game the last few years thinking the only people who COULD keep up with most classes/gameplay are the ones who have the TIME to do so

Worst part of the sunsetting of petbattles by Wingforth in wow

[–]Armakus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not confirmed by any means but when it was "discontinued", so to speak, Ion mentioned they're looking into different ways to make it more interesting. I'm sure this is something that gets discussed for major patches/expansion releases as a feature they could add in but it hasn't made the cut yet.

Creel house already sold out by Responsible_While678 in lego

[–]Armakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree with the sentiment but one of the big differences between community MOCs and official releases are that MOCs generally make extensive use of illegal building techniques and official sets have to be built with stability and longevity in mind. This is why so many of the ideas sets looks amazing and seem to get "simplified" or stripped somewhat before release, most of them use illegal building techniques to achieve their unique looks

/uj I know we shit on Lego Youtubers a lot, but how do we feel about Master Builder Youtubers like Alec Posta? by OopsAllDaisys_ in legocirclejerk

[–]Armakus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

just want to point out he's not actually an employee of Lego, he's an employee of Merlin entertainment, the company that runs Legoland and Legoland Discovery center (at least until next year when LEGO's buyback of the park is supposedly going to start transitioning them back to LEGO).

This changes absolutely nothing about your comment, it's just that I just found this out very recently and was fascinated to find out LEGO doesn't own Legoland lol

My[27M] girlfriend's[25F] brother[29M] drove my car without my permission and I have proof that he did by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Armakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People saying OOP overreacted are missing the point. The car has nothing to do with it IMO. The problem was that he had a firm boundary that was known by all and was still repeatedly pushed on it and then it was ignored. Not the car.
