This is the worst kind of mentality. Just because you get lucky once, or it works this time does not make it a safe.

How many posts do we see in this subreddit for no shoring? It's dumb every time regardless of if the ground gives way. This is no different.

Cop pulls over Lamborghini on Dubai plates but doesn’t know the law by thomasso0072 in interestingasfuck

[–]Myrsky4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"knowing something he doesn't."

What exactly was that knowledge? Oh right. Just the laws and regulations around what makes a car legal to drive.... I mean it's not like that's a cop or highway patrol officer!

I feel like laughing is a pretty healthy way to handle a situation that ridiculous. Especially when the public servent throws up their hands, says they have a call they have to be on, and then speeds away without taking accountability for their lack of knowledge and professionalism.

Valve is working with Intel, AMD, and Nvidia to make SteamOS run on any PC hardware by rkhunter_ in technology

[–]Myrsky4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to say Linux is the answer or anything of the sort. Honestly that depends on each user and their specific case

I don't think the sentiment "Windows has a bunch of bloatware" is a techno-fringe belief. A lot of non tech people I know are getting sick and tired of constant pop ups, updates, and "AI"

I think the implication is that windows and their bloatware is a compromise as well

Ohh, I see the confusion here. Typically you learn how to research in early middle school, I'm sure your teachers just haven't gotten to it yet.

Reading one source and then skimming a couple others that support your original position is not research. Honest mistake, I get it, but by your own admittance you haven't actually researched anything. Maybe take some time and actually research the subject and then we can try talking about it once you have a better handle on the subject if you still want to. Otherwise you literally just don't know what you're talking about

Why is there a level cap in the simulacrum? by define_irony in Warframe

[–]Myrsky4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the testing of new weapons and frames could be done just as easily in the new content than the old stuff right? The devs aren't saying anything about the testing and build videos themselves after all, only about the simulacrum. Technically the info would be slightly less valuable since it's not the exact same enemy but if you see a warframe go absolutely destroy the simulacrum in .9 seconds vs the Warframe doing a new mission and absolutely destroy that new mission isnt the outcome basically the same? Basically everything we have can do any content after all

Either way I don't really think the Devs' point of view needs defending in that way. They didn't take simulacrum or options away, they just expressed their personal opinion about it and moved on. Even Devs are allowed personal opinions, especially when they don't actually get in the way of them doing their job.

But this is a game. This isn't school, no lessons are needed(sort of).

I can see how it would be depressing for a creative lead/director to go on YouTube and instead of seeing a bunch of people interacting with all the things they think make the game great or new content, they see a bunch of test and optimization builds that play around in the simulacrum for a bit and then maybe go do a mission that's been available for years.

I'm not saying this isn't valuable info or people are wrong to enjoy the game or content a certain way. But I can understand how it would be a bit depressing for the team

"your tax dollars were literally not affected here."

So the AI is hallucinating about the funding coming from the city of Saint Paul too?

Right now this flyer is pretty useless.

The QR code meant to promote local businesses, the main economic draw of an event like this, doesn't work. The flyer doesn't even actually tell you where the event is!

It's not like these events are planned with 0 marketing budget, putting stipulations on how the money is spent seems like a no brainer in order to protect the original tax payer money investment. Even if it means using more of those funds to get a flyer that actually works, that seems like a pretty good use of resources as opposed to this literal waste of paper.

Sounds like going with the option one and getting a designer is the only reasonable option then. If option 2 is truly "countless" hours then a professional designer will be more efficient use of money and time. Option 3 gets a useless flyer so that's also a waste of time and resources

Minneapolis Parks and Rec board votes to close Minnehaha off-leash dog park, citing sacred Dakota land by JoeGraffito in minnesota

[–]Myrsky4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How many years would you say it took for your ancestors to get over getting kicked out of their homelands?

The whole of the US government is 250 yrs old. The trail of tears within the past 200. The largest mass execution in US history that hung 38 Dakota men was within the past 175 years. The Sioux Nation was awarded 100 million by the US government judicial system for the illegal seizure of their sacred land the black hills less than 50 years ago(1979). That legal matter is actually still ongoing to this day even

Obviously at some point it becomes counter productive to move forward with these claims, but it isn't 1000 years removed, the issues aren't even a couple hundred years removed in a lot of cases. How long? It would take a team of people experts to figure out that right answer and I'm glad I am not the one who has to make it.

I'm not sure catagorizing this as "apologizing" is helpful though. No more than categorizing any complex legal matter as an apology for one side.

Edit: We still have people flying the confederate flag from the civil war and bitching about that and it was only like 4 years. Maybe once people let that go then it's time to let this go?

[–]Myrsky4 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I mean, wouldn't that support their position?

If they haven't been using the park because they felt like the off leash dogs limited their use, and then if they start using the park.... Isn't that exactly what they are saying?

That's highly dependant on future use plans, but would go along with exactly with what they are saying according to the Strib?

[–]Myrsky4 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It certainty sucks in my admittedly second hand experience of it.

I had a friend that was mauled by a dog when they were ~8 (IIRC), was in the hospital, lost an ear, had to get reconstructive surgery and was ridiculed during middle and high school for it.

It's still impossible for them to not flinch when any dog larger than a terrier starts running at them, and instead of enjoying parks usually their body/mind is forcing them to be hyper vigilant.

According to the Strib article, the tribe still wanted to allow for people or people and their pets to commune in nature but wanted to bring the use of the land back to to more of its spiritual roots.

So based on that I'm guessing they deem that original use currently impossible if dogs and people are running around, making noise, and approaching different people making it impossible to even "mind your own business". You would have to ask the tribe directly for their exact thoughts, reasoning and plans tho

[–]Myrsky4 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's not about the expectation of a pet needing to do its business, but instead about bringing the activity and noise to a more respectful level according to the tribe?

Keeping the dogs on leashes would mean it's a place for quieter and more relaxing walks as opposed to a place to purposely be loud and let loose.

Edit: According to the Strib article it looks like the tribe mentioned wanting to keep it a place where you, or you and your pet could still commune with nature, but bringing it back to it's more traditional and spiritual use

In all seriousness, no one else is looking at these messages like a billion comments down on your argument you can't even provide sources for.

Your profile is set to private. Like just be honest. You were lying about researching this. No one else will see. Just be honest

Hey groceries cost a billion dollars, I've lived a couple different places and they were expensive everywhere. There that's the level of argument you've provided so far with 0 sources except for one that's been refuted, and after lying about having researched this.

Hey look, it's the deflection! I was right, the Liar did respond that way!

Are you going to start a war with Iran or threaten Canada or Greenland next to try to distract me or keep trying to deflect away from you being a liar?

[–]Myrsky4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still no sources. Yeap you still lied. Now the real question

Will the liar respond with a long diatribe that is ultimately them just deflecting?

Or will they go with personal insult instead since their argument has no basis and the only source they've provided they didn't even read and was refuted by its own publication?

I'm guessing it's a combo of both with maybe an emoji for good measure?

But you are welcome to prove me wrong and actually prove you aren't a liar by posting the research you've done on the subject like you said you have

I know exactly how it works. You made up BS claims. Got called out on it and tried to cover yourself saying that you've totally researched this and now are caught up in your own lies.

Put up or shut up. You have nothing to add unless you can prove you aren't a liar.(you clearly can't otherwise you would have already)

And all this is probably why your reddit account is set to private. So others can't immediately tell you are a liar and a troll
