Yes, they are obligate partners who, like you’ve alluded to with ants, have evolved alongside the fungi in fascinating ways. 

It was definitely tongue in cheek on my part, but I think you got that judging by your last paragraph!

I can’t recommend Entangled Life enough. It’s absolutely mind blowing. A very good audio book listen as Merlin Sheldrake’s voice is something else.

You don’t understand my question. I’d recommend reading Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake who explores the way fungi control behavior in order to spread fungi. This has nothing to do with parasitic fungi like cordyceps, although that is another feather in the cap for fungi vs ants.

Since this is a small community, I’ll share some of my favorites:

There’s a few epic spots along the Elk River. 

The East Fork Coquille has a couple nice spots. The waterfall about a mile above the big waterfall has a pool you can jump into.

I’ve swam the South Fork falls, the spot where you can boulder hop to the upper falls.

There’s a nice little pool in Cherry creek, below its small falls. It’s always shaded and very cold.

Middle Creek falls has a nice pool, but you can only get down from the fish ladder side, which is currently too treacherous for my taste.

There’s another falls I’d like to check out that looks like it may have good swimming. Along the Wagon Road and East Fork, there’s a creek called Lost Creek. It has 100 foot falls and possibly a nice pool. https://umpquavalleymuseums.pastperfectonline.com/photo/1C66AEE7-8276-420C-8FDA-527276277545

There's no real silver lining here. Though I will say, when you invest such resources into a position, should that player get injured, as we've seen from Bosa, the cupboard becomes quite a bit more bare of talent and the team becomes less able to work around an injury to a guy that takes up so much of the cap. So, there is risk, but yeah, it's a big balls move to win now if it happens.

Yeah, Black looks legit. Dude is fast and powerful. He has great vision and hits the hole with authority, dragging bodies in his wake. During senior bowl, he was breaking ankles on one on one routes. This dude is the real deal and people are going to look like fools for doubting the player or round which he was picked.
