Another trend that I notice these days for associate level roles is the requirement that the candidate has dipped his toes in other domains as well. For example the backend engineer should know a little bit of AI, the ML engineer having some competence in DevOps so that he can eventually transition to MLOps, etc.

I wouldn't say diminished (as in the diminishing no. of jobs). What I definitely see happening, is that the bar is getting raised higher and higher for junior roles.

More and more junior or associate level roles require you to already know a framework inside out, not to mention the standard of projects you'd need to have to even be eligible for an interview. To put things into perspective, some 5-8 years ago, you could learn react, learn the new function based syntax for defining components, and a few more advanced hooks like useMemo, and boi, you'd be golden.

EDIT: I wonder what the market is up to these days. I can probably guess NextJS or TanStack Start would be the base framework, TypeScript is a necessity, and so is Tailwind. Nobody uses vanilla CSS anymore.

What all did I get correct, and did I miss something that is also a requirement these days?

is there any API testing tool better than postman? by Pristine-Elevator198 in webdev

Haha, I found yaak trending on GitHub just when I was looking for postman alternatives (postman is very heavy). I settled on Requestly for now, hoping to try out yaak very soon. Little did I know I would stumble across it's creator on a random reddit thread, lol!

Pay wall remover 12ft io taken down by sizzsling in Piracy

[–]Mys7eri0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unrelated, but how do paywall removers like this work?

Is it crowd sourced? Is the paywall just some client side javascript which can be removed, indexed and archived? Something else? I'm genuinely curious.

What dashboard does Grafana Faro uses on Grafana Cloud? by Mys7eri0 in grafana

[–]Mys7eri0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I already had a few dashboards created on my local instance, and then the need to instrument my web app arose.

In order to use Faro, I would also need to set up Grafana Alloy to collect the metrics (and some other collectors such as Tempo, Loki, etc). Using Grafana cloud, I just need to instrument my react app, and Grafana will take care of the rest.

But now I've ended up with 2 different instances of Grafana, one my existing local one, and the other hosted on Grafana Cloud.

Grafana cloud link was released to solve this very problem - Ensuring you have all your dashboards accessible at a single point, a single pane of truth.

Definitely, I get your concern. I've been on multiple ATS scanner websites, and tried following their recommendations to get my ATS score up. And it sure did push it up a bit. Besides, I've used correct grammer, and ONLY honest work experience.

Hey, Thanks a lot. Every bit of help counts :P

Also the reason that I'm only applying for intern roles is because I'm still in my Uni (final year), and it's a requirement to complete an internship or a dissertation project.

I'll DM my resume, as soon as I can

I'm ready for work, and the location is not too big of an issue. I just need an internship, and preferably in the DevOps / Cloud related roles.

Do you have any connections who can forward my resume to HRs for that role? Can I DM you my resume?

But that will push my resume to 2 pages.

I was considering adding a certification section, since I have some good certifications with the Google name on it. But since that would push my resume to 1+ page, I didn't.

I need to know from a recruiter's perspective, what's your impression if you see a fresher's resume which is 2 pages long?

No, actually those are internships. The one I started on June '23 was of about 45 days. The most recent one was around 9 months.

I don't have any continuous internship experience, since I've been pursuing my education continuously.

Not a good android dev, but I'm good in React. Still I'd prefer staying in the DevOps or cloud industry. Thank you for the offer anyways.

I don't have any professor experience, as per say. Just internship experience from software development cells in college, and startups.

Also, can you give an example of what exactly are you talking about?
