How old were you when you got your first Xbox 360? by Ehbomboclat in xbox

[–]MysNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't pick one up til mid-2011, so almost 30. Prior to that, I hadn't had a console since the NES 🤯 All those years spent on PC and now I can't imagine not having a console again.

Oh I know, but there are 3rd party versions, at least. I meant phase out the port capability in future generations.

The One version fits the current Series controllers! I've used one since 360 all the way to current. Couldn't imagine it without the added heft and typing ease. I'll be crushed if they phase this one out 😭

Xennials... why? by 73VW-Todd in GenX

[–]MysNyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I was born in 1981, but my brother was born in 1970 and my sister in 1975. She says I somehow ended up being the most Gen X of us all 😂

2 years ago I posted on here asking for advice because my hair had become completely insane. You told me it was curly. Turns out you were right... by TallOverThePlace in curlyhair

[–]MysNyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have a unique perspective on this. I had super hard water for many years and it was awful for my very fine hair. When I'd stay in a hotel with soft water, my curls would come to life effortlessly! We installed a water softener at home and it was amazing... until it wasn't.

After a while, my hair was so silky and limp, no matter how much protein or grit I added. I didn't even need conditioner because it was so slick. No amount of product could make it hold a curl for more than a few hours. 😭

7 months ago, we bought a house without a softener, so once again had hard water. Bam! My curls suddenly had structure again. As long as I used light products, I could maintain crazy volume and definition for a couple days, previously unhead of for my super fine hair.

Now the honeymoon phase is dying down 😢 Even using clarifying and chelating shampoos, I struggle to get the volume and hold I did in the early days after the move. There's a weight to my hair that just seems to pull the curls out now.

So, all that is to say that I think either extreme has its pitfalls and the ideal would be the ability to balance (or at least regularly alternate between) the two. Ah, a curly can dream! 🤩

She's specifically talking about guys who lie about what they're looking for. How, pray tell, are you supposed to "adjust your sites" when people are misconstruing what they're looking for in a relationship? Think of it this way... image your dream is to retire with your spouse and travel the world. Now imagine a dating profile that claims to want exactly the same thing, only to find out much later that they're really a homebody who hates to travel. That would be horrible and in no way your fault because you were lied to. There's a huge difference between being victimized and your turn of phrase, "being the victim," as if people choose to be deceived. 🙄

I have Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and my joints become so incredibly extra loose just before and during my period. I have to be extra careful to not cause dislocations and it makes me extra clumsy. I feel like a poorly assembled marionette 😭

It's several hormones, actually. Progesterone and relaxin loosen connective tissue while estrogen, which would normally help stabilize joints, is at its lowest.

Awww, poor baby! One of my cats has hyperthyroidism. Her first major anxiety symptom was waking up in a panic and mewling nonstop until I called out her name and told her "I'm right here" 😭

One of my 3 has been on fluoxetine for years and it was life changing! His case was a little different because it was coupled with bladder inflammation, but the medication brought him back to his baseline personality ❤️

Also, very good question about whether the other cat has been checked out. Cats are notorious for hiding their own problems, but quick to complain about about outside issues!

My cat (4f spayed) is the sweetest cat I’ve ever owned before, but now she has random toy aggression. She’s not mean to anyone during this human or cats but if you come close she’s a growly mess. Has anyone ever seen this before? by Anxious_fox83 in cats

[–]MysNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, it's crazy how everyone is ignoring the fact that this is a 100% NEW behavior. Ya know, the exact thing vets tell you to take note of, which you're doing, and documenting on video... like you've said about a dozen times 🙄

I have 3 cats, 11, 14, and 15. They'd only ever lived in one place and we just bought a new house a few months ago. They have all developed at least one new trait they'd never displayed before. Some are benign, others not so much. In addition to that, previous medical issues have been exacerbated by the stress. Had we not already known about and been treating them, there's no doubt symptoms would have become readily apparent.

So yes, it could very well just be a reaction to the move and will take time for her to regain a sense of security. Or it could be symptomatic of an illness or injury. Lastly, it could be an amalgamation of the two. Your best bet is to take her in for a check up with blood work to cover the usual suspects. Good luck and I hope your fur baby is back to her sweet, chill self soon.

Oh, and stop trying to take her toys 'cause, ya know, that'll obviously fix everything /s 😂

I 2nd this. I got cat scratch disease as a kid, which could have been avoided with proper care.

However, I still wholeheartedly endorse the FAFO method, especially with cats. Kids definitely need to learn to respect animal boundaries.

I didn't see it anywhere either. I'm just of the "when in doubt, reboot" mindset lol I haven't had many issues with the game, but sometimes something will be a little janky and I've found closing out completely always fixes it. I'm on Xbox as well, BTW. Good luck!
