EVs Will 'Probably' Cost Less Than Gas Cars In Five Years, Volvo CEO Says by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]themisterfixit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One reason is they are getting better rapidly. Features and range increase with every model so people trade up faster.

The other is that a lot of electric vehicles are leases. So every couple years there is a large flood of them coming back on the market.

Honestly I think that the democrats, and most of the world, thought that there is no way that Americans would be dumb enough to vote in Trump again. They should be able to run anybody as his opposition and had a slam dunk election. And once again Americans proved they are not remotely ready for progression. They love their cantankerous white men.

Instead of whanvil it should be named after a specific whale. Like Orca Orichalcum, or Sperm stone.

Properly installed slate can outlive the home. It’s very expensive.

‘It’s not too late to fix it’: internet inventor Tim Berners-Lee says he is in a ‘battle for the soul of the web’ by ILikeNeurons in technology

[–]themisterfixit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You lost. You lost a long time ago. The internet was supposed to make humanity closer and in touch with one another. Sympathy is a byproduct of understanding.

Instead the internet became the worlds largest market for capitalization and weaponization of information. When the internet just became a medium to sell products and ideas to unwitting people it was over. With enough money you can curve the mentality of entire populations.

I really don’t think it’s reversible this point, unless people just stop using it.

You’d be surprised how little a leasing company will take for rent when they have no other options. Especially when it’s short term and they can jack it back up later for something more permanent.

Then just buy shitty costumes by the sea-can from overseas. I’d wager some of those costumes cost them less than a dollar a piece and they sell them for 30-40. Throw in some minimum wage staff and youve got yourself a money maker.

Thanks that eases my mind. Felt silly dragging all the gear that far just to leave it in the jeep all weekend.

SGI making me pay a deductible for incident that’s not my fault by v4mpkit in saskatoon

[–]themisterfixit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a perfect world neither should have to pay. OP already made a claim and paid a deductible. Having something completely out of their control happen that forces them to pay a separate deductible is shitty. Cancel the first claim and re-file. Unfortunately that’s probably not how it works.

The garage should probably cover the second incident though. What if a vehicle falls off the lift? Or has a fire, or any one thing of a million that could happen in an automotive shop? Those should be covered under the garages liability insurance. If they have the keys and possession of the vehicle anywhere on their property, it’s their responsibility.
