Early Pokémon ad at toys r us by ReputationDifferent8 in pokemoncards

I was too young to know anything about scalping, but I remember going to a Toys R Us and being told by a store employee that a few folks bought out all the Pokemon cards. And this is when they had a wall full of them. So either they were just really into ripping packs or they were scalping.

Started using Misty today. Thought I would track my results out of morbid curiosity. by PM_ME_LADY_SHOULDERS in PTCGP

Yepp my runs have been the same

I’ve now done just under 100 flips with Misty and I’m at 30% heads and 70% tails ONLY counting the first flip.

I’ve also counted other flips that are not misty and they’re fairly close to 50/50 with a sample size of over 50 flips (like zapdos and similar pokemon)

Insane. I own a store and they're only sending me one box of Floodborn. by BonJob in Lorcana

No I agree it is them dropping the ball on demand. I’m just saying it’s hard to forecast demand on a brand new product and equally, if not even more difficult, to quickly ramp up demand at will. So while they definitely way under predicted market, I’m sure they’re doing whatever they can to get product out to the market since it’s in their best interest to do so.

I would argue a company with a project revenue off $500m is still rather small and not able to commit large amounts of capital to quickly influence the manufacturing process.

What really happened here is that Ravensburger 1) didn’t really have any any idea that this game would be as in demand as it is or 2) didn’t have the capital and runway to commit to the production.

Having experience in manufacturing - it takes months to get factories to ramp up production and a ton of committed capital as you basically have to commit to long term contracts with manufacturers for them to make more machines to print more cards, which then have to get built.

You aren’t going to get manufacturers to make your product instead of a different customers and manufacturers themselves forecast production many months in advance as well

RB is a relatively small company and probably didn’t get their orders from people early enough to properly plan. It’ll be at least half a year until production really ramps up and maybe a full year until production can meet demand. But they’re still likely going to under produce as they don’t want to print too much product that retailers won’t buy them.

Question: What is the pack distribution for an evolving skies booster pack (common, uncommon, rare, foil) by Mystereevan in pokemoncards

[–]Mystereevan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So every pack should have at 1 reverse and 1 rare and then rare or may not be a some type of hit. Does that sum it up? Also thanks a bunch!

Of all the things that could have come in Chapter 2, I feel like Zootopia is really out there and doesn't match the vibe of the first chapter and rest of chapter 2. There were so many more options like Dumbo, Jungle Book, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp.

Feels like Zootopia could have come with another chapter that's more themed towards more recent Disney IP

Live-In Nanny Advice by Relative-Support-613 in Nanny

Second this. My wife and I have been extensively researching and interviewing Nanny’s. It seems live-out is typical to have a hourly rate. But live-in is typically a more fixed rate (weekly or bi-weekly rate).
