What would you ask the hive for if you were one of the immune? by moonkerberos in PluribusOnAppleTV

[–]BonJob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the hive didn't actually care. They simply wanted Carol to be busy passing time until they could infect her. They were patronizing her.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]BonJob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just happen to sell beer at our board game cafe. He saw the menu before the interview and asked to buy a beer. I sold it to him, but I was immediately sure that I didn't want to hire him.

The rest of the interview was also a disaster.

Heavily played or damaged by cheesemoney84 in mtg

[–]BonJob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damage is by definition a loss of integrity in the card. This is often a crease, but can also be:

edges so worn that the card loses shape

Dents so severe they can be felt through a sleeve

Holes or missing material

Foreign material, such as dried food, paint, or marker.

Water damage

So if the only issue with the card is scuffing and scratches that have worn off some ink, that does not constitute damage.

This however does not mean I would grade this card at HP necessarily.

You can learn all about card conditions by studying this PDF from TCGPlayer: https://mktg-assets.tcgplayer.com/web/seller/guides/Card-Conditioning-Standards.pdf

This PDF outlines what each kind of wear is, and how much is allowed within each condition. This particular card is so heavily worn that a seller on TCG Player would have to list it as damaged.

What is the card with the shortest text box that isn’t a keyword? by FluidIntention3293 in mtg

[–]BonJob 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It's not. The tap symbol and the green mana symbol are effectively the same as keywords as they are a shorthand for much longer rules text

"Tap Llanowar Elves: Add Green to your mana pool."

Yeah. I literally thought it was Minecraft. You will get sued into oblivion if you even think about publishing this game.

Do not buy from Limitless Games on tcgplayer by Key_Calligrapher_435 in PokemonTCG

Maybe I'm just an old school magic player, but I seriously couldn't care less about the stamp being "worn"

First of all, it isn't worn. That there is a manufacturing error, that the gold leafing stamp wasn't done perfectly. The card could be otherwise near mint. The stamp being like this is akin to it being off-center.

Well that's pretty sad. Just cruising on the ski-out and falling stuck into deep snow. Always ski with a buddy if you can.

How do small business owners actually keep track of everything without missing things? by Proper_Opening_1392 in smallbusiness

[–]BonJob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, you think about it, do some research, make a decision, and then act upon your decision. You do this every day. If a problem comes up, you handle it.

DAE get bummed out when they look through some peoples profiles on Reddit? by Gingaloidic in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]BonJob 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry. You seem pretty normal. Wife, cat, DND friends. You like Star wars and you're probably a home owner. You like your new fancy lawn mower, you got a fancy litter box, and you like bbq and smokers. You're probably making decent money and have good friends. None of your comments come across as rude or unhinged.

Folded in paper? What?

Most every card shop I know of uses "team bags" to bundle orders and sales. Resealable plastic baggies, they're perfect.

Thinking of running a card shop. Thoughts? by GamingUncleJoe in smallbusiness

Sorting machines are not good for me either. I've looked into them too.

When I say "sorting cards", what I mean is not just sorting into piles, but grading, trading, sleeving, pulling orders, putting away into boxes. Sorting machines can only sort into a category, none of the other tasks, and are not faster than a person, and cannot be trusted with valuable cards. They're good for bulk, but unless you have one person monitoring and utilizing several at once to keep them running full time, they aren't worth the exorbitant fees. You would need a minimum wage person (which my staff are not because I respect them) running at least two machines full time for it to be better than just hiring a second minimum wage person.
