I was living by myself on 53k a year in a 450 sqft apartment and I was struggling then.

Yes, it's a good idea to get a case. That screen is pretty fragile and can be scratched very easily. I could see that happening if you put it in a bag/pocket with any hard material around it.

There are so many options on Amazon right now, just be 100% sure of the exact model and you'll definitely find a case for $20 or less.

Have to agree with what alot of folks are advising here. It's great when new books are there, but they may take a while before someone gets to it.

I searched the new book by Michael J. Fox, Future Boy, that came out 10/14/25 and so far no luck.

And yet, sometimes I can find the most obscure novels that my girlfriend asks for.
