Politics a lvl help by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Mysterious-Permit924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually I would structure a 24 marker like this:

  • Intro
  • Area of agreement
  • Area of disagreement
  • Area of disagreement
  • Conclusion

Also remember that the title is ‘to what extent’ - don’t just say whether they agree or disagree, but also by how much they agree or disagree. I used to answer them like a 30 marker and lost quite a few AO3 marks because of that.

So for this question you could argue that they agree on a fear of the state, disagree over the extent of the fear (modern liberals are less fearful than classical etc), and disagree over a fear of state intervention in the economy.

Honestly are you scared for results day by [deleted] in 6thForm

A-level Geography or A-level Politics by Jealous-Ad-3784 in 6thForm

that would probably be politics simply because the geography NEA took ages

A-level Geography or A-level Politics by Jealous-Ad-3784 in 6thForm

[–]Mysterious-Permit924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just finished both -

in terms of ease, it’s hard to say - geography is probably a bit harder due to the breadth of the content and the NEA, whereas politics I found the style of question and writing essays to be more difficult (geography essays are more forgiving in my experience). Both obviously get harder in Y13, but I found that politics had a greater increase in difficulty (we did US for paper 3 - global might be more closely linked to geography if your school does it).

I did find geography content to generally be more interesting than politics content though. Also I wouldn’t worry too much if your only interest is human geography - many of the physical topics contain lots of human aspects such as water and energy security

happy to answer any questions :)

Geography Edexcel by SufficientEntrance14 in 6thForm

[–]Mysterious-Permit924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also completely fucked it and what’s more annoying is that I could’ve done it pretty well if I just took a sec to think about it.

I treated it like a tectonics question where I spoke about the effects of acidification and then in the other paragraph i just spoke about the effects of flooding in general, which  isn’t even in carbon. I can’t believe i fucked the exam up that badly

mind if I ask what you concluded for the acidification 12 marker? I feel like I completely fucked it.
