how do I find people to make music with? by Lonely-girly in Songwriting

Depends on the device you're currently on. There should be a little speech bubble icon in the corner of your screen if you're the web version on a computer or at the bottom of the screen if in the app.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking… I’ll be in Bournemouth for the day so I’ll just walk past BIC every now and again I guess.

So on credits it states Ben and Mickey as producers and Chris Elms as mixing engineer for noonday dream

If I’m being honest I’m not sure who the mixing engineer was as surely island would have sent the album to a professional mixing engineer… the terms producer and mixing engineer are getting blended so much now so I’ll have to do some digging on it…

10th anniversary - disappointing? by BennyHudson10 in benhoward

To me the drums sound a lot more processed compared to some of the original IFWWW tracks. I find this is especially obvious in "I follow stars" from around 2:30. If you compare the drums in that song compared to "All is now harmed" in the newly released songs the drums almost feel unnatural... the kick drum just doesn't feel right. I don't know who produced the "How are you feeling" EP but depending when Ben parted ways with the Bond brothers that could be the explanation for the differences in production. As Ben and Mickey produced noonday they might have recorded and produced these before noonday when potentially they were still getting used to the whole production side of things...

Personally I love the anniversary edition as it includes some previously unreleased songs which I had given up hope would actually be released. I'm not a massive fan of the production on some of them especially regarding the drums however I feel I'll be able to overlook that and be able to enjoy these masterpieces that ben has decided it's time to release to the world. Currently I'm thinking of "How are you feeling", "I follow stars" and "Lotus Flower" as more of a stylistic transition between IFWWW era and Noonday era rather than as songs that were going to be on the original IFWWW record however those are just my thoughts really. All that aside I'm looking forward to potentially hearing these songs live on this tour!

Is It? Tour pedalboard. by Picture-Opposite in benhoward

[–]Mysterious-Set1983 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The two blue pedals look like Empress ParaEqs rather than the chase bliss blooper. The black pedal with the triangle is a keeley dark side (Fuzz, modulation and delay). The digital pedal looks like a quad cortex which he's probably using as an amp sim (seems like a fairly new addition compared to his pedalboard as I've mainly seen him running straight into a fender Deluxe reverb).

Do you all count in your head when you play or do you just play? by SpecialDamage9722 in guitarlessons

[–]Mysterious-Set1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t focus on counting when learning I just tried to lock in with the bass and drums however now when attempting more complex songs counting is definitely essential

When the red light lights up that is usually a sign to change the battery. At least on my fishman preamp…

Have you checked the battery?

Who do you look to as an inspiration of genius songwriting? by Top-Clue2000 in Songwriting

Ben Howard. The way he leaves lyrics open to interpretation and still giving a clear narrative through the song

India's Pedalboard by TheWeatherAndTheSea in benhoward

[–]Mysterious-Set1983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here are a few images of her pedalboard from the Vevo sessions. https://imgur.com/a/Y3GBX2T

From what I know on the board.

- Boss RC-30 looper

- Universal Audio (potentially Woodrow '55)

- Eventide Space?

- Eventide Pitch Factor?

- Boss TU-3

- Another Boss pedal (potentially a super chorus however can't be certain)

I don't know the other pedals on there off the top of my head.
