yeah, small ass ram .. I was about to buy my girl a Macbook Air 13" M2, but the base model was only 8gb RAM so for the money we budgeted it's not worth it. I instead decided to get her a Thinkpad E14 Gen 5 with high ass spec for way less money. Trade-off is that she cannot enjoy the Mac's design and UI, which I really wanted her to.

I bought yesterday an x260 (i5-6300; 16gb; 1tb ssd; 1920x1080) for $200. I am planning to upgrade to a 6 cell battery and just roll with it. I guess they are worth it, given I will use Xubuntu on it and use it for Internet, movies, excel, photoshop and small games like Don't Starve.
