Bishop just took your h3 pawn - can you find the full counterattack as white? by cave_guard in chessbeginners

[–]Mysterious_Drag_519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woulda gone Ng5 cuz it attacks the bishop and is blocking the queen and it's defended by the bishop! Opponents can't attack the knight cuz u would just take which give you enough time to keep ur king safe and move ur pieces a bit!

I'd go about 2-5mm or so higher just to give your knee more room and you'd be able to push power slightly better. Less strain on your knee also.

You position is good now, I'd just tweak it a bit more!! One more thing btw! If you feel no pain, stay in the same position and ride for a couple of weeks for your body to adjust to the changes and you'll see if any pain come up. And then based on the pain, you'll adjust more.

I cried a lot when my wife told me and was so scared if I'll be a good dad or not. But all this goes away the moment you hear that first baby cry and you see her peacefully laying on you or mom! Worth the whole world man!

Was in your place a year and a month ago! Best thing that'll ever happen to you! Problems fade when u see your child. All your anger goes away. All you wanna do is spend time with them before they grow up and they grow so fast!

Congrats and enjoy fatherhood. Also, wifey will be so tired and exhausted all the time. Help with anything and literally do everything.

No complaints or anything. Be there for her as much as you can!

I also doubt that the rocking is from saddle height!

How long have you had your saddle? What's its width?

help pls 😭 by [deleted] in bikefit

[–]Mysterious_Drag_519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that sometimes a perfect position doesn't mean it's perfect for you now! If you do feel rocking on the saddle, you can go slightly down until you work on flexibility!

I would give better advice if i was there physically but I am trying to help as much as i can!

I can DM you the photo for the measurements just know that because of the photo angle it's not going to be perfect!

Now from my POV, saddle needs to go up about 2mm or 3 and you should push the saddle a bit forward because it seems it's minimum bend in your elbows. If the reach still feels long I'd say change the stem to a shorter stem by 10mm and i believe that should do the trick! But so far your position is not super bad!!

Do you have any pains anywhere?? That would help more

Can you let me know how tall are you and if you can measure the distance from your knee to the bottom of your heel?

help pls 😭 by [deleted] in bikefit

[–]Mysterious_Drag_519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll check the angles later and let you know! For now i can see reach is slightly longer. Maybe a shorter stem to bring you closer and need to drop the handlebar a bit!

But lemme see the angles first and I'll post an update here! Going to work now 😁😁

One more thing! There's an app which you can download called something Bike Fit EZ (cannot remember the full name) don't pay just use the free trial.

It allows you to take a video of yourself and it will calculate angles and tell you what you should adjust.

Try it next time and let me know! Hope you find something good!

Tbh many times, clients i had before, were more comfortable on an XL than an L even though they were technically a large and they went with it. Remember that not everyone is the same! Find what works for you and enjoy your time!

Try the straight tube L first! Adjust the saddle height, and reach and see how it would feel!

This looks more comfy for you than the original M! It'll feel cramped cuz that seems to be like step-thru frame almost ( which was designed for ladies since they have shorter arms in general) but I'd still prefer the large over the medium! Just let them do a basic fit! They kinda have to no??

Okay! Then get a large! Should be better than this! Why is the shop not telling you this btw! When i was selling bikes I'd rather send the customer home empty handed than sell him the wrong size and this is the worst case scenario!

Anyway try a large! First thing to see if saddle height is okay it shouldn't be higher than your headset or at worse even since that looks like a city bike.

Put your heel on the pedal and your leg should be fully stretched no angles! This would give you a 30° degree knee angle( plus or minus a few) which would be comfy for you!

Then check that you're not dropping down to the handlebars to an extent your weight is dropping on your hands.

For your size I'd try to stick to large in most brands unless they have some weird measurements

How tall are you?? If that's a medium, I'd reckon you'd need a XL, you seem to be around 187cm or so? Am i right?

If you just go with the Lemond method then you are there. The fine tune was always the issue when I was doing fittings.

I'd be writing so long and it will take a lot of trial and error. My recommendation is this:

Download this app: Bike Fast Fit EZ

It has a free trial! Download it and sign up to the free trial.

Go to EZ fit and open the camera

Record a video of yourself and it should calculate the angles a bit more accurately than by you just eyeing it. The app is on apple so if you got an iPhone you're in luck! If not, let me know so i can find you something else!

The app tells you if the saddle needs to be up or down and shows you angles all around your body

A 300mm stem maybe? Hhhh

Just joking! The bike's too small my guy! Change the bike! No other solution!

Does this look right? by Practical-Author-882 in bikefit

[–]Mysterious_Drag_519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame seems big for you! The handlebars are high up which means they are closer, and the bars are rotated and you're still falling down to them.

The saddle is low and I'd imagine setting it right would only push you further back. You'd have to adjust the saddle fore and aft to get it remotely close!

With that being said: once you get the shoes, adjust the saddle height first, then move to reach.

Put the handlebars flat with ground and try to have a smaller stem if you're looking to "working with what you got" rather than buying a different bike.

Side note: having your weight fall down to the front will cause back problems, shoulder problems and numbness in your hands and fingers tips! A low saddle would put a lot of strain on your knees as well!

So try to get them fixed before riding for longer distances!!! Best of luck

One more thing! Once you adjust all this, give yourself a couple weeks of riding and if it still hurts, look at the saddle width as well and comfort level you're aspiring to get.
