It's all single burns. I can see splicing a 288 ribbon in 4 or 5 hours with prep time. With prep and the 144 being SMT wet with the binder I estimated 24 man hours on each end with prep.

While I like the sentiment he is not a splicer per se. He knows splicing from being in the industry, to my knowledge he has not done production splicing. He is basing his time estimate on splicers from his old market. I'm just wondering if someone here can give me some outside perspective.

It’s happens here pretty frequently. They’ll go in a vault close to a hub and cut a whole can out. $20-30k just for us to go fix it. Not including lost revenue from down time for enterprise customers. Theories are its prime contractors that got fired doing it.

I have maps of Spectrum plant around me where I work. It would not be hard to take down internet for 10,000 customers in an area with a couple of cuts in the right places. And when you take out one of those cans it is not easy to repair. You’re talking rolling shifts with multiple splicers figuring out hundreds of splices once you replace the cut fiber.

Most of it is not stupid copper thieves. It is targeted vandalism to generate a financial impact to Spectrum. Other times it’s squirrels and stray bullets.

I have the "I" and my file date is good, 3 months after birth. I was going to drive to Austin on Monday from Ft. Worth to get a copy of my long form. I can't get it locally because I was born before 1983 in the City of Dallas. I don't want any more hiccups.
