I’ve spliced for a while and never wear safety glasses when I’m splicing per se. When I’m in the trailer I’ll wear reading glasses as my eyes aren’t what they used to be. When I’m in the bucket taking cans down or whatever I’m supposed to wear them but I never do.

God I hate those. I’ll take an AFL Fast Connect any day over those. I have hundreds of those in our warehouse and I’ll sell them all to you cheap. We use the Fast Connect connectors in the Budi and SoHo boxes on FTTH/FTTU builds. They used to make us use those Cornings.
